  1. Provus: "Thielbar has allowed just one run over his last eight games." I call shenanigans.
  2. Torres came into this series with an OPS under .600. Twins pitching, the cure for what ails ya.
  3. That can't be right. There's no way he got a hit this month.
  4. Routine, can-of-corn 410 foot fly ball.
  5. Thank you. There is no such animal as a "low-leverage reliever." I don't understand how anyone still thinks that. Or ever thought that. We lost two games last week with "low-leverage relievers."
  6. This game should be 1-0. edit: which, come to think, doesn't refute your point.
  7. I wonder if a major league team has ever had worse outfield play over a 3 game series.
  8. Julien was such a tough out last year. What happened?
  9. When you get every ounce of it, and it dies just short of the warning track, that's not a good sign. See Margot, Manny.
  10. What is it we're supposed to be getting from Vazquez again?
  11. Twins 1-7 against Yankees, Dodgers, and O's. Seems like you're making the other person's argument for him, rather than refuting it.
  12. Oh come on, FFS. Four hitters in. 3 K's and a 15 foot nubber. Pathetic.
  13. I can't stand that when Santana "holds" a runner on, he's not actually holding the runner on. He's 3 or 4 feet off 1st. There's been I think 3 pickoffs that would have gotten the runner had he actually been on the bag. He has to reach 4 feet behind him as he plays it.
  14. I should admit I was wrong because our big free agent acquisition is occupying first base and hitting .207/.279/.393? Second among Twins in PAs, BTW.
  15. Yeah, game threads are no place to talk about lineups.
  16. LOL. "What can (we) say?" Just tip our hat and call the Yankees (our) daddy."
  17. I went to a local 70's R&B Music Fest this past weekend. It was fun, until this cover band came on and played "Shining Star," "Boogie Wonderland," and "Mighty Mighty." The place had to be evacuated. They set off the Earth, Wind & Fire alarm.
  18. The Twins--fairly or unfairly--have a pretty strong reputation as "cheap." You don't think announcing a massive payroll cut days after the season ends is going to undercut every ounce of goodwill they earned last postseason? Ownership absolutely earned the tepid interest they're getting. Add in the fumbled TV contract, blaming fans, etc etc. Forget the Falvine mistakes. The real damage was done by Ownership.
  19. LOL. Texas 2023. Houston, 2022. Atlanta, 2021. Your argument is nonsensical on its face. And in actual practice.
  20. Is that MLB's goal? If so, they don't seem very interested in achieving it. MLB (or at least multiple teams) spent all of the last year trying desperately to get Diamond Sports through bankruptcy and back INTO broadcasting games rather than using the bankruptcy as a path away.
  21. Interesting arguments, but neither of which are load management related.
  22. Not sure what Santana or Miranda have to do with Martin's playing time. That said, what has Martin done to deserve more playing time?
  23. Is this a serious post? Can't be. The O's "fizzle out" in the postseason? They've made the postseason once since 2016. 4 times since 1998. But ok, let's play this silly "postseason is too long" game. Texas won the WS last year. Marcus Semien played 162 games in the regular season. Nate Lowe 161. Corey Seager 119 after missing 5 weeks to the IL in April/May. Adolis Garcia 148 with a 13 day IL stay. Catcher Josh Heim 131. Their WS opponent? Christian Walker, 157 games. Corbin Carroll 155. Gurriel 145 with 2 injury stints. It's almost like a team's best players should play. Virtually every day. Many do. There's absolutely zero reason to think 3 days off in June will somehow make a player better in October.
