  1. Nobody is trading for Margot. Least of all teams far down in the standings.
  2. I'm not a fan of Watkins, but... Sending Vazquez Friday night was terrible. Not even close. But that's a rare case with 2 out. Sending Santana yesterday was absolutely the proper decision. Every coach in baseball sends him. There were 2 outs (almost always send the runner on a hit to the OF), it took a perfect throw, and the play was extremely close.
  3. "Basically even??" Margot is .200 points from .700. And he's been a .700 hitter once since 2018. I don't really care about Kiersey much. But you don't get to invent ****.
  4. In honor of Star Wars Night at TF
  5. A clean inning from Okert! No WAY!!
  6. Done and done. Sure I'd take a call if the manager position opened up.
  7. I believe strongly in almost always sending a runner from second on a base hit to the OF with two out. Almost always. That was another pretty awful decision by our 3rd base coach.
  8. No spoilers on the Timberwolves, if you please.
  9. I also think KC is better than Cleveland, and probably better than the Twins. You're seriously underestimating Sal Perez, BTW.
  10. We got us a new ballgame. Settle down and get through five without any more runs, Mr Ober.
  11. VAZQUEZ GOT A HIT!!!!!! Maybe it's true...you're likely to see something at a baseball game you've NEVER SEEN BEFORE.
  12. Me too, and then I take the weekend off.
  13. If Rocco does his usual "can't face the order the 3rd time" thing, he might not get through 3.
  14. Twins PA leader Willi Castro would be 4th on the Rangers. I guess they didn't get the memo that players need a day off every other series.
  15. Buxton sees zero strikes and still manages to swing and miss at three pitches.
  16. Speaking of "don't get it," Mrs Chief is really mad at me, and I'm at a loss as to what the big deal is. She blames me, I guess, for ruining her birthday last week. And I gotta say, that's a bit unfair. I mean, I didn't even remember it WAS her birthday.
  17. Great start. Let's just spot 'em two.
  18. Why? He's 27. 6th year of MiLB. 7th year since being drafted. 1500 MiLB PAs. He doesn't need everyday playing time for development. The sole consideration is if he's an upgrade, even a minor one, over current Twins 4th and/or 5th OF spots. And a 40 man spot, of course. That's all that matters.
  19. I've long been in agreement with a quote I can't place: "Baseball is the sport least likely to go according to plan in the short term, but most likely in the long term" It takes a long season for the difference between a team giving up 4.2 runs per game and a team giving up 4.7 to inevitably show up. But show up it will.
  20. I agree they'd be better off with an actual hitter at DH, but I'd rather have Kirilloff (or basically anyone) and Jeffers in the lineup than Vazquez and Jeffers. Trading out Vazquez for Kirilloff is an easy choice. There's nothing all that valuable about Vazquez's defense, if that's what you're shooting for.
