  1. That will take the better part of an afternoon
  2. ...my high school dating career Frustrating, but I keep trying
  3. 90 percent of Twins fans are unaware of any of this.
  4. Agree, with the caveat someone in A ball or lower really has no business being ranked as the #3 prospect in baseball. I mean, its all just opinion, and IMO prospects in general are wildly overvalued, but ranking an 18 or 19 year old in A ball is just too difficult to have much meaning. If they're really the 3rd best player in the minors they should be playing in the majors.
  5. Agreed, with the caveat I dont have to agree this was the best deal available, nor that if it was, there was some imperative still in place to sell Duran. It'd be malpractice not to sell expiring contracts this deadline. On a massive scale. Sell, sell, sell. Sell at a discount, if necessary. But that's not Duran. Or Jax. Or Stewart. Ryan. Sell sell sell those guys only at a profit.
  6. I also think Correa is a pretty strong bounce back candidate. He has lost range but he is still a very dependable SS. And I think he's a better hitter than he's shown this year. Get out from under the entire contract? Sure. But that's not happening and it makes zero sense to pay him to play for someone else.
  7. The post I responded to was "September," not 2026. But for the record if Abel is the Twins 3rd best starter in 2026 we're going to be pretty bad. As for "upside" and "likelihood of becoming a solid starter" do some research and let me know where Matthews was rated as a prospect. I know youre big on those ratings.
  8. Lopez and Ober will still be on IL, Ryan traded and Matthews will regress?
  9. I always felt getting out from under Correa was a long shot.
  10. Well every pitcher is an injury risk. Including Abel. There is no point focusing on injury risk unless there is some underlying issue. And using a history of health as a risk is...questionable analysis IYAM. The risk everyone is talking about is MLB production. We're trading it away. Elite level production at that. Over four seasons. We got none back. The risk of getting less MLB production back is entirely on the Twins.
  11. Then every pitcher in minor league baseball has a ceiling of a #1 or #2. Thats meaningless. And for the record..."5 elite pitches?" Just stop
  12. Nobody but you projects Abel as a #1 or #2 starter. Nobody can ever know for certain what a minor league player will become. But He's dropped off all top-100 lists except one. He's not included in Fangraphs top 200.. Most projections say he has a chance to develop into an average-ish starter. And BTW he's not there yet. You can be in favor of this trade without making stuff up.
  13. The inability for a large section of our population to add 1+1 and arrive at 2 is rather frightening. This isn't difficult: Adding Dobnak's $2,2M to the deal lowered the prospect return. You can be fine with that. But unless you can make a case Detroit wanted Dobnak for baseball reasons, you cant deny it.
  14. You know who made out like a bandit in this deal? @Matthew Trueblood
  15. You'll let me be grumpy?? GET OFF MY LAWN YOU WHIPPERSNAPPER YOU!!1!
  16. To be fair, this is just one quote from one (very recently traded) player.
  17. SI used to be the gold standard back in my day. That and The Sporting News. Now its a complete joke. Its a shame, if you ask me.
  18. I have a hard time thinking Mauer is going to leave his family and go ride busses in Florida for months coaching A ball catchers. For one thing I doubt he needs the money. Maybe a week at spring training.
