  1. Now it's a REALLY fine time to bunt Martin.
  2. Fine time to bunt Martin here...
  3. Another example of a veteran swinging at garbage in a clutch spot. Apparently, Santana is the only one in this lineup that knows how to put together a professional at-bat in a big spot.
  4. HOW???????? SWING THE DAMN BAT!!!!!
  5. Phillies broadcast reports contusion for Buxton.
  6. In case no one noticed, Buxton had to leave the game.
  7. The top 5 stingiest staffs as far as runs allowed this season entering today are the Braves, Mariners, Phillies, Guardians, and Royals. Since we haven't seen Atlanta yet, the 6th stingiest is the Yankees. In 27 games against those teams, the Twins have averaged 3.5 runs per game (95 in 27 games) for a W-L record of 11-16 (pending today's result).
  8. 0 for 25. Great choice, Rocco. LET THE KID HAVE A SHOT!!!
  9. If Margot steps to the plate here as a pinch hitter, so help me...
  10. Phillies are just toying with us now by setting up another 2 on, less than 2 out situation.
  11. You're right. Those duck snorts are a result of fighting off pitches instead of guessing, which inevitably leads to backwards Ks. Sad part is that the vets who should be taking those good ABs (looking at you Buxton) are often the ones that swing at the awful stuff that kills innings.
  12. What separates the good teams from the wannabe teams is the ability to manufacture runs like what the Phillies have done (partial manager factor) and getting those junk hits at the right time. It's fully on display in this series.
  13. Entering this game, batting .217 overall with the bases loaded. That average plummets to .184 when bases are loaded with 2 out.
  14. Hate is a strong word but I hate this team when it gets into these bases loaded situations. Failure is almost expected.
  15. My money is on a Jeffers popup here.
  16. HEY ROCCO, THAT'S WHAT MANUFACTURING RUNS LOOKS LIKE HEY TWINS BATTERS, THAT'S WHAT HITTING IN THE CLUTCH LOOKS LIKE
  17. Probably the same reason why they never bunt to move a runner along. Phillies didn't seem to mind using their 9th place guy to bunt the runners over to get to Schwarber.
  18. The clutch gene is still on summer vacation.
  19. Remember that he didn't really hit it all that great at StP in his first rehab stint and then he came up and tore the cover off the ball for the first couple of weeks he was back. He's said it himself that he doesn't get concerned by what he does on rehab stints and is just more about getting back to game speed.
  20. OMG, amazing what happens when you swing the bat!!
  21. Lewis doubles in his first AB in StP
