  1. First time in his MLB career that he's thrown a pitch in the 9th inning. That's pretty amazing. Kevin Cash would have pulled him after 6 innings.
  2. And that's why my hands go near my back pockets when I'm behind the plate. It only takes one time of feeling like you broke your forearm before you change your stance.
  3. With the exception of Lewis, the bats have been pretty sleepy so far. Against anyone else but the Chisux, that would likely be a concern tonight.
  4. They've reached their limit already. Unless someone's right leg happens to cross the plate.
  5. Lewis has 7 dingers in 11 home games this season. Is that good?
  6. Cost them a strikeout on the 3-2 pitch to Lewis. Ump was ready to ring him up but dumbo failed to catch the ball because he was trying to frame it.
  7. Beat writers said he was removed for head injury after that throw to the coconut. I'd imagine we won't get anything until postgame or Friday pregame.
  8. And heaven help ya in a one-man or two-man system trying to correctly call the slide play at 2nd base on a double play attempt.
  9. I don't know about you but interference/obstruction plays are the absolute worst because no matter which way you go with it, someone's going to be upset and they won't understand why.
  10. Unfortunately, how close a runner is to the bag has nothing to do with an interference call since you can't assume anything. It's strictly interference on a fielder attempting to make a play. I've had to call a couple of those and as anyone with common sense, you know they have no shot of getting the runner but you also can't ignore the fact contact happened. Had Kepler still been in the box, then he'd have been fine as long as he wasn't actively trying to mess with the catcher's attempt. Tough break.
  11. It's probably also bigger than Minnesota. Maybe they should have a team too.
  12. So everyone got their taxes done in time before the deadline on Monday? Oh, hang on, I'm being told it's not April. Could have fooled me based on watching these last 2 games.
  13. Trev, don't be praising Buxton's lower strikout rate during his at-bat until he, I don't know, doesn't strike out in that at-bat.
  14. I'd imagine the Mets pitching braintrust spent about 3 minutes on tonight's scouting report -- just do the same thing as last night.
  15. Let's also not forget that we decided not to kick any tires (at least not openly) on James Paxton.
  16. Sounds like Dobnak up with Kiriloff going to the 60-day. Also sounds like Stewart might be headed back to the IL.
  17. I was referring to a couple of lefties in the pen who have been on the wish list of many to get DFA'd.
  18. Staumont DFA'd to make room for Richards. Didn't expect that one but then, if you're lefty and breathing, you can have a roster spot.
  19. Jay Harry is sent back to Toronto.
  20. And even Wallner gets in on the inherited runners scored gig.
  21. When your stuff has zero movement and you can't miss bats with it, you're gonna look like the batting practice that Stewart has thrown these last 2 outings.
