  1. You know he went to Red Sox, right? Or were you just saying that in general after the DFA that the Twins didn't take a run? That's one that wouldn't have cost much to try for the last 2 months.
  2. Oh look, 2 more inherited runners in. There HAS to be someone on St. Paul that is a lefty who can replace Okert in this bullpen. The guy has been no good the entire season.
  3. Remember when Staumont could get outs with regularity?
  4. That's an indictment on the hitting coaches for whatever garbage plan they came up with going into this game and it's on the hitters for not seeing it in the very first inning like some of us did. I said it 2 weeks ago and I'll keep saying it -- I'd never throw any of our young players a fastball because they can't recognize off-speed pitches and do anything with them.
  5. Buxton still parked on first base thru 2 AB's. He should be chilling in the dugout and the score should be 6-2.
  6. 8 games left. Let's talk about this after next weekend's 4-game series.
  7. Hey Rocco, that's what a stolen base looks like.
  8. And it wouldn't be a bullpen appearance without an inherited run scoring.
  9. Worst tactical manager of a decent team in MLB.
  10. IS THAT ENOUGH FOR YOU, ROCCO OR ARE YOU GONNA JUST LEAVE HIM OUT THERE TIL HE GETS AN OUT?
  11. Twins hitters should take a little note from the Mets hitters -- going the other way with contact isn't the worst thing in the world.
  12. SIT. ON. THE. FASTBALL!!! Stop swinging at that stupid curveball. His miss is never going to be in the strike zone with it.
  13. Guards play the Yanks in any round of playoffs, what do you root for?
  14. Why Buxton was anchored to first base with 0 & 1 out was mystifying. Might want to key on Quintana's changeup and then not chase it. He hasn't thrown it for a strike yet (blue gave him that 2-0 pitch to Willi.
  15. 1. Already answered. Just like Astros is short for Trash Can Clankers, er, I mean, Astronauts. 2. No cellars in Florida. I miss them. We had a kickass one growing up but it had water problems so we couldn't finish it the way we wanted to. Still good for ping-pong and setting up the batting net in the winter to hit off the tee. 3. That Marsh dude for Philly looks like he could be good for the evil role with all that hair all over the place. Either that or he'd be the Cousin It of MLB's Addams Family (Judge plays Lurch). 4. Whatever SWR did in the offseason has paid off very handsomely. His upward track is making that Berrios trade look outstanding. 5. Since I've always been an underdog backer, I like parity a bunch. Always like to think that my team has a chance no matter how stacked the budgets are. As a fan of comedy, Weird Al needs to make another album. Can you imagine what he'd do with Taylor Swift?
  16. Imagine that, a New Yorker shooting their mouth off. That group loves to hear themselves talk and they say some of the dumbest things. Having spent time around golf tournaments at Bethpage and Shinnecock, some of the stuff they'll say to players was as idiotic as it came. That city can go another 100 years without a championship and it won't be enough.
  17. Right there with ya...as soon as these storms get outta here.
  18. I wouldn't hate it if he got the 9th but I'd certainly understand seeing Jax or Duran.
  19. How many times do you see it -- a guy gets bowled over by his teammate on a fly ball and then leads off the next inning.
  20. Well color me shocked. They must have had a really good look at it. I thought it was inconclusive. I'd also like to point out the lack of hustle by veteran umpire Andy Fletcher for being way behind that play and not being in position to see if it hit the net or not.
  21. Why on Earth would you challenge that?
  22. Marlins putting Josh Bell on waivers. He has 5 HR in his last 6 games. So just when you think our front office has some blooper moments, be glad we're not the Marlins.
