  1. And now Buxton is out of the game. Why does he have to be so brittle?
  2. That's one way to get Witt to take a day off.
  3. Good find. Would that now be 3 for Jeffers after tonight or are they that quick to update?
  4. Wasted AB's when you stand there and look at strike 3.
  5. Maybe the article he was reading was too good. Or he was hung up on that last square in Immaculate Inning.
  6. Not sure how to find that. Jeffers has 5 errors this season, including tonight, at least 2 of those on CI's. He's also got a 14% CS rate, 2nd-lowest of his career and has been behind the plate for 21 WP/PB's.
  7. A lot of good that did...4-3 Guards now.
  8. There's that solid defense by Jeffers again.
  9. Oh look, 1st inning dinger Lopez is back again.
  10. Hey Bux, the sunglasses work better if they're over your eyes, not on top of your cap.
  11. Using brooms feels really good. Guarantee no blood for the weekend series. Now let's get one or both of these weekend games and send the Guards packing.
  12. These guys have given me a good reason not to be disappointed to be heading to the airport and miss the rest of it. Very messy and they'd better wake up from 1 to the assistant hitting coach for this weekend.
  13. Would you prefer to start Winder?
  14. Back in May, the Cubs drew 6 bases loaded walks on the Pirates in one inning. We're getting perilously close to that threshhold now.
  15. Rocco's probably already waved the white flag.
  16. Alex Tosi is today's blind man behind the plate. Meanwhile, this is a classic reap what you sow situation. You didn't want to pull the trigger on anything at the deadline except low-leverage flotsam and now you have to put him in during what should have been an easier spot and we see why he only yielded a low minor leaguer.
  17. PCA is 21 of 21 stealing but why would we throw over there once?
  18. Hard to say. His lower body looked fine on the last two pitches and he didn't seem to limp off the field. And even his last pitch had good velocity on it so this one is up for grabs as far as what it is. Probably some bi-lateral leg weakness.
  19. The injury gods really dislike this franchise.
  20. Trevor knew how many outs there were this time. He was certainly helped by the fact the throw from the outfield got airmailed.
  21. 21!! Fun fact -- Gavin Sheets got to endure this 21-game losing streat with the Sux. He wanted to be just like daddy as his father, Larry, was an OF/DH on the '88 O's that lost their first 21 games.
  22. Framber Valdez loses no-hitter with 2 out in the 9th as Corey Seager takes him deep for a 2-run HR.
