  1. Let's go Twins. This week isn't going to be easy, but I hope it's fun
  2. TWINS WIN!!!!!!!!!! WOW, some fantastic plays in the 9th inning to get win #69 on the year for your first place Minnesota Twins!!! So happy for Smeltzer getting his first big league win, and we have a sweep!!! Hitters showed up when they needed to, and the bullpen did it's job against a poor Royals team. The difficulty of opponent takes a big step up tomorrow, but I am confident in this team! Enjoy your Sunday night, and see y'all here tomorrow!! Go Twins!!
  3. Very nice play by Arraez. I was expecting him to put together great at bats (obviously not as good as he has been, but still good at bats because of his style of play). I wasn't expecting the + defense at 2B though
  4. He's thrown three of the past four days. He through 14 Thursday, 25 Friday, zero yesterday, and 6 today. It isn't even the game pitches that are the big deal. It is getting lose and the recovery aspect. I would be very surprised to see him used tomorrow, but who knows.
  5. Fantastic inning from Romo. Only threw 6 pitches. Let him pitch the 9th? He is already more than likely unavailable for tomorrows ball game.
  6. No, Dyson flew in THAT day, like two hours before he found himself on the mound in a SAVE situation. Smeltzer has been in Minnesota and got a full night of sleep. Not the same at all.
  7. Agreed. It was basically picking who you'd rather have unavailable tomorrow -- Romo or Duffey. Duffey matches up better with the Braves as the Braves lineup typically consists of 4 or 5 left handed/switch hitters, mixed throughout their lineup. I don't mind going to Romo here, especially in a two run game.
  8. No. You gotta win the game your are in position to win. What happens if you throw Harper and May today, and they give up the lead and you lose, and then tomorrow you find yourself down? Then you saved them for nothing.
  9. I know you're being snarky, but Smeltzer flew in yesterday so you have a moot point.
  10. STRIKE 'EM OUT, THROW 'EM OUT!!!!!
  11. The use of Trevor May over the past week and a half has been CRAZY. One pitch in the past 8+ days. Hasn't pitched in blowouts. Hasn't pitched when the bullpen has been taxed. I know he was in a rough patch, but his stuff will play. Surprised he isn't being use here
  12. Fantastic start by Devin Smeltzer. Put the team in great position to win, and that is all we needed him to do. Shut this one down bullpen!
  13. Wow, nice catch by Soler. I'LL TAKE THE RUN THOUGH!!!
  14. I think both at this point. At the very least Smeltzer's floor is a left handed LOOGY. Problem is, there are quite a few of those guys. However, I do think he is better than just a loogy. I don't think he is probably as good as he's shown (it is the Royals, but it is still an MLB lineup.) I think I would be comfortable with him as the #5 next year if you go get another top tier starter and resign one of the the three upcoming FA's.
  15. slow breaking ball that is HAMMERED TO LEFT *Rosario takes two steps back*
  16. Jason Castro started off the year very well, however, in the past 28 days, he has an OPS of .586.
  17. Fantastic first trip through the order
  18. Larnach with his third homer in as many days Dude has been on a tear lately
  19. Arraez is a base hit machine....crazy
  20. TWINS WIN!!!! It wasn't easy, but it certainly wasn't exciting. Our best hitter was a 39 year old who has been crushing for years, and our best pitcher was a 36 year old who throws a 86 MPH fastball. Will be interesting to see how tomorrow is pieced together with Dyson and Romo unavailable, and Rogers probably listed as "prefer not to use." Wonder if Cron will be activated tomorrow? Need 6 from Gibby tomorrow, with myself sitting behind home plate! Huge win tonight!! Enjoy your Friday, and see y'all at Target Field tomorrow. Go Twins!!
