  1. Gosh, i hope not! (Rereading earlier post... ah, Rope is a her...) Hard to tell, and i guess that's the point of euphemisms. But the sympathy probably is appreciated either way. If i may, i'll embrace the farm euphemism, and imagine Rope battling her tail off at triple A, and making it back to the majors as a tiger like other great former twins... Cats have 9 lives after all. (What's the song with the refrain -- "But... the cat came back.") Anyway, now i'll distract myself with hockey, if it's okay.
  2. May it land on all four paws! (and Rope is an inspired name!)
  3. Florimon batting 3rd! May want to save the score card...
  4. True. Though how close did he come to makin' the catch? (was slightly distracted at the moment it happened, but was under the impression it was close...) Anyway, i really hope we can make up two runs. Especially now that we're at bat.
  5. A week, you say? Sorry for complaining so soon then...
  6. Great, now i got mack the knife stuck in my head. And i'm wondering why players don't have more interesting knick-knames...
  7. It does. A friend once voiced the opinion, that one thing that made baseball great is that it is possible to come back from any deficit so long as you still have an at bat left... We still have a ways to go, though it gives one hope that those who just put the dent in the score are coming up again.
  8. That is one way to start reclaiming interest...
  9. Now the age old riddle... How does one maintain interest when it seems a game is decided early on, and not try to beat the traffic? (especially strange to feel this with no traffic to beat...)
  10. If it's not over... does that mean it's under? I'm still hangin' in there!
  11. Woot! Kubel beats the caps lock!
  12. Outfield assist (especially at home) is almost as good as catch, isn't it? Coulda been worse...
  13. Leaves me wondering what's the meta for... (2 down)
  14. Yes, in"deet" i did... didn't know i had back sections, so it was worth the effort. Need a bit of a cleaning, though, so for the moment, i'll just throw down a roach motel, and trust to the spiders to keep the rest of the bugs out. Anyway, game's on!
  15. Hmmm, that almost sounds like a challenge... Whatdya think about Bug repellant? Might that be an Off! topic?
  16. Got an errand or two to try to run before the game, but i, too, am aquiver with anticipation for this here game! Thanks for all the music references, as they gave me something to listen to. "some will win, some will lose, and some are born to play the blues..." And my take on the pronunciation of Detroit... it's poitic license. Me? I'll always think of Robocop as my documentary on what that fine metropolis is like. (Now the relevant theme music is bouncing through my ears... I also could do worse than that) Anyway, yes, it'll be a lot of fun to see what Fuld does in center. I'll be be back soon...
  17. Masterful reverse jinx! Wish i could do that...
  18. It certainly won't be too many...
  19. I'm not complaining. Good change of pace from the early scores of yester-year... i mean last year. Had been hoping to see Dozier lead off 3 innings in a row, but oh well.
  20. And i know it is far too late to be useful or entertaining, but i went and looked it up. Tropicana field is actually at 27 degrees... 46 minutes and change North Latitude. Now it's bedtime...
  21. Sorry i am slow (and explaining a joke is in a way, admitting failure...) Um... what did i mean? Well, DLR is the plate leadin' to the 100% agree with police work quote, and i guess i was trying to make a joke about that. And the last quote "Three cent stamp." is the duck painting... and i guess now, after this game, i imagine Mauer sayin' in the same tone "infield single." "no one wants an infield single" Oh well. Someday, i'll be able to make a joke that's actually funny...
  22. Yup. game over! And... back to 500!
  23. On to the 12th... Better than ending in the bottom of the 11th, but... i'm tired too.
  24. DLR -- that'd be the person who puts people on the DL, right? Yeah, i heard about the tv show. Haven't gotten around to tryin' to watch it. Is it worth the time? And for me, "Three cent stamp." seems appropriate as a twins fan...
  25. Drat. Sacrifice bunt takes them out of the triple play. For some reason, i always want to see a triple play... Oh well.
