  1. Thanks for correcting that. I figured i'd not take the time to look it up, and see if anyone noticed if i got it wrong... I have not scored very many games in my time, and figured it'd make slightly more sense numbering wise to continue the increasing widdershins theme displayed in the infield proper... Live and learn. So the line up contains 7 squared too... What can we make o' that?
  2. (I'm still not sure if i'm supposed to be raising it or lowering it... There are sound arguments that both are acceptable, even preferred) I was going to comment on an interesting fact of this line up: TWINS: 1. Santana SS (6) 2. Hunter RF (7) 3. Mauer 1B (3) 4. Dozier 2B (4) 5. Plouffe 3B (5) 6. (our) Escobar DH (er... 0? 1?!) 7. Arcia LF (9) 8. Suzuki C (2) 9. Schafer CF (8) That being positions 3,4,5 are batting 3,4,5 respectively... 3,4,5 squared? It's a Pythagorean triplet.
  3. It probably falls under the heading of a short leash. I hear it is a good universal management (or moderation) technique, often employed for starters to keep them in line... for a win.
  4. If i ever manage a team, everyone must be able to catch. It'll teach them to respect the position, at the very least, and contribute to the renaissance athlete we all aspire to be.
  5. Thanks all! This has been a educational thread. Catch ya later on down the trail. And i look forward to more small victories (no relation to Leonard Smalls), bits of Fry and Laurie, 1-2-5 innings, and Simon and Garfunkel parodies.
  6. Do you have to wear it the whole day? Perhaps just wear it during the game. How dirty can it get in that time span?
  7. Exactly. Some excitement on the field, even if it is what would be known in football as "garbage time"
  8. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kuZvLArXU5s
  9. Yeah, not so often you see a two tag double play. I enjoyed it. Oh, and sorry i've wandered off. Game's not quite so close as the last two.
  10. If only the twins could win games this early...
  11. Gosh, i hope the Twins don't mistakenly score that kind of runs...
  12. You speak truth. And i have been betrayed by ambiguous pronouns once again. I had meant that scoring in baseball, also known as the "runs", what chief said when referring to the Twins' game, is called something different in the sport of hockey, which is what i was referring to in my comment pertaining to the "Wild". Namely the "goals". (Have kept ambiguity at arms length this time?) But woe is me. The Twins' game is over.
  13. And so do the Wild, apparently. Though i think they call them something else...
  14. Well fielded by Nunez! (Plouffe, Escobar eat your hearts out)
  15. This inning. Scored by Twins. (Sometimes I think it helps to specify)
  16. I think it's prescribed for those who catch foxtrax. (I don't what's given to those who are just foxtrax carriers)
  17. I thought they were in St. Louis...
  18. So that's what happens when Schafer swings away... Well, at least Nunez is hitting.
  19. Yep. They'll need it if they ever broadcast a second channel. Oh, on the hypothesis that someone is asynchronously appreciating Minnesota sports, are we discouraged from updating on events in the other game?
  20. I wish Schafer bunted for more hits... He's got the speed. But yeah, a dribbler to the right side does the same, with the added bonus it might be ripped instead of dribbling. Oh well. We're behind again...
  21. Yeah, that was nice to see. I agree that Schafer should have done that. Maybe next time...
