  1. If that's the case, is it selfish of me to want him to have the lead at that point? I want to see the bullpen hold a one run lead for 7 innings, and for the Twins to remember how to score runs early. I'm not sure. There are probably somethings i don't mind being selfish about as well. "It was under a big W. Say, what is a big W?" I really just hoping we get a big W.
  2. Not to muddy the musical waters, as the A-team intro is fantastic. (Who knows, they might be at the game. Did anyone think to explain to them our plight?) But the dog day discussion made me think o' this...
  3. Gibson escaped a couple of early jams allowing 1 run each as out field assists caught runners going to third for the third out. When he left with the bases loaded and no outs, it was only 3-0. The only thing that kept Boyer from giving up a grand slam was the fact he had just given up a sac fly. Not great for Gibson, but coulda been worse. I been napping more than i care to admit, so i might actually catch the whole game...
  4. Hopefully the bus will get them there in time for tomorrow's game.
  5. Hmmm Self reliance should be encouraged... Let's see if i got this:
  6. Oh yeah... I haven't noticed any CBU updates. But i assume most people are aware (if they're awake) that it's 7-0 Angels entering the 7th inning.
  7. Is Bark's Lounge about? I've a hankerin' to remember the good times of the conga line... And those clever lyrics... Conga conga conga. Can't do any harm anyway.
  8. What was that? I didn't quite catch it... You might be getting a little hoarse...
  9. Whew, for a moment i thought you were gonna say they should be inlawed... That would mean someone would get married to the game.
  10. Hope this doesn't count as a jinx or anything... For some reason it reminds me of a Victor Buono poem (which i suppose would have been slightly more on topic in the bay area) Once i turned a somersault quite near the San Andreas fault. Later as i nursed my knee, A telegram arrived for me. The message said "Cool it, Victor!" The signature read, "Dr. Richter." (mind, this was from a record (an LP, no less) of him reciting, so the line returns were my insertion, and done by memory, so i might not quite be verbatim) Anyway, i also thought it could be something "victor-y" for glunn to cheer for? Only 3 and half hours to wait...
  11. I know this one! (or if i don't, at least it gives me a dumb idea should anyone be foolish enough to ask me to plan their wedding... including me) New year's eve wedding, consummated (if that's the right word) on a time zone line. But yeah... i imagine there's only one date allowed on the license, and that goes to the census... Drat, i thought i had it there... Anyway, yeah... Baseball. Still 7 hours to go... Enjoy the game, glunn! (should it be capitalized?) Stay cool!
  12. Well, he walked fewer than his last time here... Can we come back from 2 touchdowns? Stick around and find out...
  13. I shoulda mentioned the grand slam, shouldn't i have? Reddick hit one off of Graham. Oh well.
  14. Doin' fine. I introduced a couple in Detroit to open the season. At least the Twins are in the race... But if the proverbial fork has been stuck, you best write another one soon to take advantage of your reaction.
  15. CBU like a wet blanket, is 11-0 for the A's. But it's only the 6th, so 4 runs per inning, and we'll catch 'em, we will!
  16. Oh, announcers said Sano had twisted his ankle yesterday stepping on a ball during fielding practice. Tough luck...
  17. Twins leave the bases loaded... Where have i heard that one before? Robinson got out number 3 to the warning track though, so close at least... But this isn't horseshoes...
  18. Lesson 1. A lot can happen with 2 out. CBU would be 7-0 after a 5 run inning after Milone retired the first 2 batters. Graham came in, gave up a double that plated the inherited runner.
  19. Now let's get Graham some run support!
  20. That's pretty good! I particularly like a story i don't remember quite where or when i heard it, where a Texan, tryin' to impress an eastern farmer says something like "back in Texas, i can drive all day and not get to the other side of my ranch!" The farmer responded... "i had a car like that once..."
  21. CBU 2-0 after 2, courtesy of a runner gettin' to first on an errant Santana throw, and a homerun down the left field line.
  22. Hicks went... On strike 3, so we'll never know if he'd have made it or not.
  23. Probably, and an associated museum that is advertised. But not as heavily as Wall Drug, or i'd remember what it was...
