  1. "If we only had a wheelbarrow, that would be something..."
  2. For those keeping track, Rosario is back, but no Escobar in tonight's line up. Hope he gets well soon.
  3. The order o' tonight's service will be as follows... Would the congregation please rise for the singing hymn #25 "Nothing but Raindrops" The first sermon will be given on "the 3rd strike." There will be a moment of silence as the pitcher gets the sign. Rise for hymn #99 "Third base coach is waving you on" The second sermon is "hitting the cutoff" A collection plate will be passed about for those stranded in scoring position. And finally please rise for our national anthem. The bullpen will be called in to give the benediction. Can i have an Amen? Er, and feel free to incorporate yer own variations as appropriate. I usually sleep too late to make it to services myself. I guess i'm limited by my own experience and even that i'm only badly parodyin'. I should get out more widely to experience this freedom of religion thing... Rangers Mike Minor (L) 1. Shin-Soo Choo (L) DH 2. Elvis Andrus (R ) SS 3. Nomar Mazara (L) RF 4. Adrian Beltre ( R) 3B 5. 4. Obviously we didn't quote Blazing Saddles enough.
  5. I wake up and we lost... A whole game behind Detroit. Hmmm. Could be worse. And on the Target Field wall there was something about Buxton on the 22nd... I think he'll be there tomorrow, if only in Bobble head form? I could be wrong. I often am. Apparently it was just the shoulder that got Rosario scratched, not the whole arm.
  6. They done scored on us... Gnash gnash mutter mutter.
  7. I am not ready to be hurt. Apparently Rosario is a late scratch due to strained arm. Dozier moved up into his spot. And Escobar apparently got his arm up in time to protect his face from a pitch.
  8. Welcome LVTwinsFan! Twins win every game and we are always funny here on TwinsDaily. Stems from all the above average children around the Lake Wobegon. Aw shucks. Come on in and make yourself at home!
  9. 1. Summer! No kiddin'! It is the Solstice (well ÷/- a day as i'm too lazy to look it up) To celebrate it, you are expected to add things to this game thread. I look forward to seeing what it all adds up to in the end. 2. Top non--Trump news item: Joe Ms have been designated for game thread assignment. Montana says he is happy as he can finally work on his bucket list. Madden looks over his shoulder and says it pails bu comparison. McCarthy says they're over rated, as there's always a hole. Mauer guesses he will just have to find another way into broadcasting. 3. NESN (the cable channel what brings Boston folk their pro baseball games) listed todays game as noon et. I assume that is just so that they can tell us a whole bunch of stuff in advance. Perhaps it is conscienctious. Players prepared, Fan base informed and all, but still, if i want to sleep in an extra hour and not miss a pitch. They dare to practice on my credulous simplicity? 4. No Buxton, no Sano. And yet we took 2 so far from a vaunted East Coast contender. Am i just too naively optimistic? Perhaps, but i don't mind. It is good to see them play well yesterday! 5. I gotta catch up on last night's Blazing Saddles quotes. After the game i walked in on the second half of a movie which winds up with everyone singing "Life's like a movie, write your own ending, keep believing, keep pretending, we've just done what we've set out to do. And with the lovers, the dreamers, and you." Red Sox Rick Porcello (R ) 1. Mookie Betts ( R) RF 2. Andrew Benintendi (L) LF 3. J.D. Martinez ( R) DH 4. Mitch Moreland (L) 1B 5. 10. And am parked in a bar watching on NESN, but cell charge is waning... So i might be less talkative? postative than ordinarily...
  11. That LaMarr bounce must have been a wicked hop. Still not sure how it got by the SS, as it was nearly roght at him...
  12. I don't think he's mad at anybody... Honest.
  13. I can't tell if liquidity of assets is desired in this case...
  14. Distracted by softball this afternoon. Fortunately anyone discussing local sports ball round me should also be referring to this game, which usually isn't he case...
  15. I assume this has something to do with the score being tied, eh. Only spuratically checking on things. Soup could use a dash veterin seasoning, i assume?
  16. Wasn't there movie called The return of the Joe/Eddie? An appropriate pappa's day movie even, if i recall.
  17. Escobar doubles Mauer in. Yes is now the answer to the leading question.
  18. Thanks! If that is a dad joke, may i enquire after the offspring? What are they like?
  19. In honour of Father's day, i present: Stone Soup Game Thread Intro In my pop's declining years, the last grocery run he was willing to be part of was for sake of the joke of asking where they kept the stone soup. Which was in mind because we'd recently watched the episode off Jim Henson's the Storyteller that features it: A Story Short. This episode stems from coming to the best bit of a story and suddenly not remembering what comes next. Fortunately i don't have that problem... yet. Happy Father's day all! Stone Soup Line up: A large pot. Water. A nice stone. Prep: adlib to involve the audience in creating and enjoying it all. Serve generously. Twins Jake Odorizzi (R ) 1. Joe Mauer (L) 1B 2. 20. And sorry about not correctly noting game time... I am not so much a wizard of speed and time (nor master of time and space, sorry to confuse the two) as i wish to be...
