  1. "...all will once again be right with the world." I am pleased with this sentiment.
  2. Did we just have an example of inning called on account of pitch count?
  3. A baseball equivalent of the rope-a-dope? Let's take note how that works, so we know if we can safely implement it later in the season...
  4. Still needing a tune up? Remember, good vibrato can hide a lack of perfect pitch...
  5. A Garver homerun the difference in the game after 2. Good to see. Or at least read about on the gameday. Addendum edit: Double Ninja'd. Beat that!
  6. Er... decisive? Sorry for my poor spelling yesterday. Today? Boston: 0. Nick Pivetta (R ) P 1. Enrique Hernandez (R ) SS 2. Marwin Gonzalez ( S ) 2B 3. J.D. Martinez (R ) DH 4. Aaron Sabato (R ) 1B We got this! They are following the age old strategy of batting the second baseman second. We are 1upping them by batting ours first! But their second baseman does seem familiar... Anyway, i may end up bein' too busy to check in on things this afternoon. Y'all may have to bring it home.
  7. 6-0 seems rather decicive. At least our winning percentage is well above the pathagorean. Sorry i didn't check in earlier...
  8. Er... Oh well. First overtime loss. At least it made the home team fans happy.
  9. Wish i knew more about hockey. They seem to be playing up a storm tonight, and against good competition...
  10. Looks like we missed the ol' 1-2-6-2-6 Fielders' choice double play to end the 3rd. Which (myopically) stands as the difference in the game.
  11. You can get a summary by entering Gameday for another game, the click on the Twins game in the top banner. It only offers boxscore and plays, but really that's most of i care about.
  12. One thread to rule them all... Er. Sorry. Got a bit ahead of myself. (Power does tend to go to one's head.) Anyway, seein' as Spring Training Game discussion might not merit the attention to autoarchive threads, or assign new people to introduce every single one of 'em, i figured i'd try to mush it all into one oversized month long thread. Feel free to fix that if ya want. March Day... The 1st of March. We are playing at Tampa Bay, come noonish Minnesota time. And here be the Lineups i came across online. 2020 American League Champ Twins 0. Lewis Thorpe ( L) P 1. Luis Arraez ( L) 2B 2. Ryan Jeffers (R ) C 3. Jake Cave ( L) CF 4. Brent Rooker (R ) LF 5. Taylor Walls ( S ) SS 9. Josh Lowe ( L) RF If we can beat them, does that mean we can make the World Series?
  13. Oh, and was lookin' for a place to comment upon the Gophers Basketball season. They had some promise, but lost their guard and seem sunk at this point. But they're the only team to beat Michigan, so that's something.
  14. I'll take it. Not sure how the throwing error played out, but i credit speed as a contributing factor between Celestino, Broxton, and Gordon on the bases. And a sac fly later in the inning for the lead.
  15. Gotta give credit where credit is due. I heard it on Babylon 5, in the episode Ivonova went out to recruit one of the other ancient races to help against the shadows.
  16. Good call. And it took a long time to update Gameday as it needed to be reset manually somehow to override game situations which don't normally occur.
  17. Just got back to computer and am tryin' to make heads or tales of it too... 1) It is spring training, so Gameday is less well managed than normal. So the involvement of Jorge Alcala probably won't get updated/fixed. 2) As for real life, somehow Kepler got called out? Perhaps he was picked off? There is a count listed as 2 balls and 1 strike. Could be either the pitcher or catcher who gunned him down. Or it could have been some sort of interference call?
  18. Claim victory in your heart, and the universe will follow. Yeay! We Won! (But what did we win? Discuss) Lineups Redsox: 0. Nathan Eovaldi (R ) P 1. Enrique Hernandez (R ) SS 2. Jarren Duran ( L) CF 3. Hunter Renfroe (R ) RF 4. Rafael Devers ( L) 3B 5. Christian Vazquez (R ) C 6. Bobby Dalbec (R ) 1B 7. Christian Arroyo (R ) 2B 8. Michael Chavis (R ) DH 9. Michael Gettys (R ) LF Twins: 0. Devin Smeltzer ( L) P 1. Max Kepler ( L) RF 2. Mitch Garver (R ) C 3. Jorge Polanco ( S ) 2B 4. Miguel Sano (R ) 1B 5. Byron Buxton (R ) CF 6. Alex Kirilloff ( L) LF 7. Willians Astudillo (R ) 3B 8. JT Riddle ( L) SS 9. Caleb Hamilton (R ) DH Play ball!
  19. Thanks theJemmer for your insight into the Visa process. The closest i've come to this i think is hearing complaints from a friend running a small start up i worked for a while back complaining that they couldn't hire who they wanted because they couldn't get the work visa approved (it might have even been re-hire who they wanted)
  20. Suggestion makes more sense than i gave it credit for. 15 players can a soccer team make, and that works out considering how substitutions work/are used. But the skill sets differ sufficiently it is unclear they'd be competitive in that league either.
  21. Anything worth talking about here? I feel they seem better at this 0-16 thing than the Vikings, and yet do not get credit for it here.
