    Not sure yet myself, as i haven't made one yet, not knowing the risk. The Ober joke i was hoping to slip over your head was using Ober as part of Oberon (get it? Ober-on the mound?), a character in A Midsummer Night's Dream. Titania is a related character.

    It resembles the ball too much. (sorry, i guess i did not give that part of my statement sufficient focus) Sigh... People aren't wearing enough hats.

    Nor do i believe the rule is based on skin color. It is to eliminate undue distraction to the batter. If color is mentioned, it is likely to keep something from resembling the ball, or being too loud visually. If you ever happen to watch martial arts displays, some weapons have flamboyant tassels hanging off the handles to distract from the pointy end.

    I know it shouldn't be a consideration, but huzzah for Nellie, as the Twins player best at resting, so hopefully least affected by not getting to rest through the all-star break. Still holding out hope for the improbable run...
