Well the Correa trade was worked out by Pohlad and the Houston owner. I think that was established by a good reporter (can’t remember who). But the Duran trade and subsequent other bullpen sells, yes that supports the line of thought that it could only have been Falvey, as the Pohlads aren’t micromanagers like that and don’t make player evaluations.

That one was a nice effort. Probably could have corralled it, but whatever. I’m thinking this is how they coached him to field ground balls at second base that he had to range left or right for. To just run at the ball and do a feet first slide at it to get your body down. Some fielders will do that occasionally when the instinct kicks in, but as a Plan A for getting to ground balls not hit directly to you.. it’s not great. Ideally you want guys who can backhand and stay on their feet

And that’s what makes the Twins such a laughingstock. It’s such a mediocre AL this year. Just get in and you have as good a shot as anyone.

The poster I was replying to has described Julien as having demons of doubt. You have described Julien as having angst that is very real, because he is not allowed to face lefties. This is also conjecture, no? Another poster linked to a story that describes knowledgeable people who are skilled at making accurate snap assessments about these things (think Paul Molitor), which is kind of what I was getting at. The original poster noticed Julien looks tuned out. I think all of these things are true. -

I have to disagree with this. Do you think an MLB scout sitting in the stands and looking into the Twins dugout, will say something like this to himself or herself: “well, I see what I see, and I’ve seen this before elsewhere, I have been in locker rooms myself, and I have my own personal experiences to draw on, but on the other hand, it is almost impossible for me to know the dynamics of this team I am observing and how this player is feeling based on what I am looking at. Therefore, there is nothing to report.” -
The smart guy answer for who deserves extensions this offseason, is, of course, Derek Falvey and Rocco Baldelli. That said, Ryan Jeffers needs an extension. They have no one else to catch for 2026. No one. The other one I suggested was Harrison Bader. That would have to be a FA signing now. I love the speed and defense Bader brings. Given all that’s happened, shown equal offers between the Twins and another team, I think Bader chooses the other team. These are not young guys. But they are the best extension/sign candidates in my mind. In my opinion, the Twins simply are not set up or willing to do long term cheap extensions for young pre arbitration guys like you see other teams do.

Lee’s MLB batting splits are significantly better when he’s at third base, as opposed to second base or shortstop. He only ever played shortstop in the minors, so there’s nothing to compare to there. Small sample, but there’s that.
