  1. Sabato against lefties would just make most logical sense. 1.300+ ops against them in AAA. The defense won’t be that much worse compared to Caratini at 1B (but it will be bad) Jackson back up to play the role of team manager just doesn’t make sense
  2. Oh you mean 2 of the best hitters ever? also Suzuki wasn’t truly a rookie
  3. Lower your expectations on rookies Lets all say it together…lower your expectations on rookies They're rarely here to save the day. Trout had an OPS of around .650 in his first 170 PAs
  4. You know the Twins would really benefit from have 3 DH’s in the lineup. Manfred, how bout it?
  5. Long freaking game Just about two hours and only through 5
  6. Standard twins when the lights are brightest. Complete no show against a guy who hasn’t been good for years standard Royce AB. Hero ball and never comes close
  7. As usual the twins are simply dreadful against lefties so I don’t see him getting optioned. I’d love to find a way to give Aaron “1.300 ops against lefties” Sabato a look
  8. Nobody ever said the Twins org was too bright
  9. Love it as a reclamation project. Outside of this year he only ever pitched home in Coors. Velo fell off hard last year but worth a look
  10. Roden- 3-3 2B, BB- learn bench, buddy Larnach- .473 ops last 15 games- the perfect leadoff guy Watch Larnach reach safely 4 times
  11. Based on the fact that the twins have given Jackson all of four plate appearances in the last 2+ weeks it seems pretty clear the twins feel that way as well. He isn’t starting or pinch hitting because he’s benefited from some of the most insane BABIP luck over his last 170 PAs that I’ve ever seen. If Shelton had faith, he would have gotten some ABs during this stretch where the Twins offense has been flat.
  12. I think 2 reasons why. A) they wanted to be sure Jeffers was healthy B) Jackson doesn’t really have value. Even after a .740 ops last year nobody wanted him in late March when the Twins DFAd him. He’s had extreme BABIP luck 2025-2026 and he’s going to come back down to earth hard very soon.
  13. I’d say Jackson but he’ll just continue to be a bullpen catcher and fans will throw a fit about needing a third catcher on the roster that literally no one wanted earlier this year when he was DFAd
  14. It’s wonderful that he has gone 20-66 this year but the sample size is tiny. Savant and Fangraphs both say he’s getting luckier than anyone in the game. A dime a dozen guy
  15. Reese McGuire- FA, rated well defensively last year Tomas Nido- FA, rated well defensively anyone who is on a minor league contract and hasn’t been on the 40 can still be traded as well. I get that as fans we can get lost in simple numbers, but every metric says Jackson is awful with the bat and that defense has slipped this year. He’s a dime a dozen. Holding him for a chance that someone gets hurt is silly.
  16. Because Jackson has a 23:1 K:BB ratio and his expected stats are below. .194 xBA, .264 xSLG He can be replaced so easily next year.
  17. Alex Jackson is the same as every other backup catcher on free agency who gets anywhere from 1-2 million dollars. They haven’t needed him in weeks, holding out on him because they want him as a backup next year after buying at the deadline is just weird. He’ll be easy to replace
  18. Roden was on a playoff Blue Jays team that was stacked with corner OFs and then traded to a team also stacked with corner OFs. Roden’s minor league numbers have been good every stop he’s made he just hasn’t been in a great situation to get a legitimate shot. Him being 26 matters very little in my opinion. He didn’t even get his first minor league AB until he was 22.5 years old.
  19. That was my point. Him playing in his first AAA game in 3 months isn’t indicative of a promotion to the majors for a team that says they’re in a playoff hunt
  20. Last year with the Twins was 12 games before a season ending injury before that was his major league debut. If you don’t look at advanced analytics that’s on you. He’s walking more than he’s struck out this year, he’s hitting the ball hard but Shelton is sticking with the vets. Acting like 210 PAs split up across 3 unique stints is enough to say he’s a nobody is just so silly to me. Freaking Mike Trout posted an OPS of about .650 in his first 150 PAs. Roden’s longest stint was 112 PAs.
  21. The Walker Jenkins talk is one thing but asking to bring up Emmanuel Rodriguez? imma need some of those shots, mnfireman Hasn’t played for 3 months outside of 6 games at A+
  22. Roden is getting less than 2 PAs per game played since he was called up. Thats not a situation very many players would be able to take advantage doing.
