  1. It depends, are we talking good arms or just arms in general?
  2. Well, got walked off, but, not a walk off walk. Yeesh.
  3. Walk off walk...can they do it?
  4. I don't think the Royals will do that. Probably have to settle for kidnapping.
  5. checked in just in time to find out I shouldn't have checked in.
  6. Ah, did not know the Twins were that thin at that position. No, no reason to shell shock a kid that would be badly overmatched at this level,
  7. I was thinking maybe someone younger from Triple A. Or even Double A. But, I guess this late in the year and with a lost season, no point.
  8. I do not get Petit in this lineup, at all. I can sort of justify a lot of things but Petit isn't one of them.
  9. On a more serious note, I did read this story somewhere many years ago. The whole light striking the surface just right was actually in the original story. I want to say it was Reader's Digest, but, again, decades ago.
  10. And, again, I copied over the last thread heading, changed the times, but not the date. Sigh.
  11. Many years ago, archaeologists found a stone with an inscription that dated back a couple of centuries. Experts puzzled over deciphering the inscription for decades before it was finally deciphered. And, of course, someone just happened to stumble across the key that allowed the rest of the world in on the secret of the ancient code. The intrepid researcher walked into the room which contained the stone, and, just as the morning light shone across the surface of the stone, the "eureka!" moment occurred. The lighting revealed the key to the whole cipher written on the stone: "Today is Sunday, the 24th. Am very drunk today." The point to my story? No idea. With that, Play Ball! Lineups:
  12. Twins managed to both out hit and out pitch the Yankees. Queue Twilight Zone theme:
  13. Today is a momentous day. It is the day after the Twins managed to take 2 out of 3 from their nemesis from the Bronx. It is also momentous, because the Whine Line may have signed off for the last time. *Greatest end to a show ever? You betcha! But, that's okay, because we've found a viable replacement: *Sammy Maudlin and Bobby Bittman. What's not to like? Now that we've done that, time for: *next. Some thought from the Twins beating the guys from the Bronx: 1. The Twins beat the Yankees! 2. The Twins beat the Yankees! 3. The Twins beat the Yankees! 4. The Twins beat the Yankees! 5. The Twins beat the Yankees! Play ball!
  14. Gasoline for the appetite.
  15. If you think of them as "audition for next year" rather than "opener" it makes more sense.
  16. Flummoxed by this one.
  17. Yankees and chicken dinner? What weird and wonderful universe is this?
  18. Wow. Deserves double chicken with waffles:
  19. Hildenburger is in I see. I thought for sure Molitor was going to punk us and put in Belisle.
  20. What, you want Belisle to make it into the game?
  21. Wait, wut? 3 more outs to go?
  22. You know, if the Twins are going to do extended spring training in September, why don't they just play in Fort Myers?
