I wonder which Twins team will show up? The team that clubs the Sox or the one is clubbed by the Sox?

Yay Buxton boo Twins. Still thinking positive thoughts. Defense and starting pitching is doing its job. Bullpen and bats...well..

I think the Cubs catcher thought he was throwing ground ball practice and the Cubs SS sort of failed.

Ah, Father's day...the day Father's everywhere wind up getting roped into going out and celebrating when in reality Dad would like to stay home, maybe putter about the house, catch a Twins game and generally be left alone.

Fortunately, or unfortunately, depending on how your favorite team is doing, there's always tomorrow.

This is what happens when the gameday threader changes in the middle of a series. Not quite quick enough to get the post up under Brian's.

I have to wonder what May's ceiling is. Striking out the side in the 6th was outstanding.

It was interesting to hear Bert call the fastball that scored the run. Nothing like proving the Bert might just know a bit about pitching and pitching strategy.

Even though Buxton isn't hitting, he is still proving the value of a center fielder who can actually run down a fly ball.

May the Cubs win except when playing the Twins.

    Dial-up..don't forget the dial-up.

I vote Riverbrian for permanent gameday duty. Obviously, Brian is responsible for the Twins suddenly finding their bats. (just kidding Riverbrian) (maybe not)

I cannot hate a team that: 1. Had a HOF'er named Ryne Sandberg. 2. Had Andy McPhail. 3. Is the touchstone for franchise futility.

I think interleague play should be limited to natural rivals, LA and the Dodgers, Giants versus Oakland, Twins versus Milwaukee, etc. I like interleague play, but I think it has gone a bit too far and needs to be scaled back a bit. Also, see my game thread regarding interleague play here: http://twinsdaily.com/topic/18517-game-thread-twins-vs-brewers-607-1110-am-pacific-time-110pm-ct-grizzled-veteran-edition/ Unless the NL decides to introduce the DH (and I would prefer they don't) ground rules are ground rules.

4 tough games in a row against the best team in baseball. Twins pitching went toe-to-toe with the Cardinals and gained a split. This team may be a lot better than I thought.

Dogs and cats sleeping together, mass hysteria, game tying homer from Mauer, game winning homer from Vargas....where does it end?

    Go Twins!

    Rotation

Blake replied to DaveW's topic in Minnesota Twins Talk

Thompson or Duensing are on the bubble.

Now that is gutting out a win. I'm starting to believe this team actually has some toughness, which has been lacking the last few years.

Here I was about to mention that I need to remember that post and Joe gets doubled off.
  22. Blake
I see Joe is still in the lineup. I really don't get it. Teams have been pitching Joe away, getting the strikes called and Joe has not been able to adapt.
  23. Blake
Two positives so far this year: Good to excellent defense. Good pitching. Now if the hitting could do as well.
  24. Blake
Okay, that's it, sit Mauer. If Bert is criticizing Mauer, then Mauer needs to sit for a few days. Something is obviously wrong with Mauer, because it really looks like his head is not in the game.

What would I give up for a sure thing? Since It would mean the end of ripping management, players, random fans, TD mods, posters and the like, I'm not willing to give up anything. Sorry, that's just a bridge too far. In fact, the suggestion borders on heresy.
