    I have to admit, I was not excited about Hughes or Sanchez. I suspect the FO wasn't really excited about either either.

    I believe the FO knows it has some arms that need to debut at the MLB level over the next year or so which probably factored into their approach this off-season.

    I thought Lynn was one who would cost a draft pick. Thank you for confirming that. I had no idea Lynn's numbers were so pedestrian. Seems like the Twins should just wait until they can debut some more pitching from the minors.

    Okay, I've mentioned it before, but, here goes: I wrote off Mauer last year and he went on to have a very Mauer year. Going with that small sample size of one, I am now officially writing off Hughes and hope the FO makes a move to get rid of Mr. Hughes. Time to take the money and retire, Mr. Hughes. There, that is the official "kiss of lifetm" for Mr. Hughes.

    Who will I miss and blame most on organizational incompetence? Anyone on the list who succeeds. I'm a fan and that's what fans do.

    I think fewer commercials is an idea who's time has come.

    It appeared to me, last year, that Gibson might be turning into one of those pitchers you either get to early or not at all. If I remember correctly, there were a couple of games last year Gibson got hit pretty good in the first and after that did a good job of shutting things down.

    I bought the Dish network baseball package and it comes with access to mlb.tv. I don't remember what I paid for the season but I want to say it was no more than $140. As for mlb.tv lag time and other issues, it always appeared that if I used any feed other than the Twins feed, I had no problem with streaming the game live.

    Baseball is back! Boston and the Twins will go at it on this fine day. What, it's Twenty below where you're at? And? Yes, there are those who think the groundhog signifies the end of winter and that Spring is just around the corner. But those of us who live in the real world know the only true sign that counts is: Pitchers and Catcher report to camp! With that, here are the lineups. No idea if they are accurate, as they're from MLB.com. Well, probably accurate for about, oh, two innings. Boston: 1. Mookie Betts RF 2. Xander Bogaerts SS 3. Hanley Ramirez 1B 4.     This was my view this afternoon on this beautiful mid-seventies day here in sunny CA: Was it a great game? No. Was it two college powerhouses going at it? No. Was it outdoor baseball on a gorgeous afternoon? You bet. (left top of the seventh, with CSUB down 12-1. Wasn't looking good for the home team.)

    I sort of think last year was "check out the position players" and this year is "let's look at the arms." I'm pretty sure the Twins have an idea of where their weaknesses are at the position player level, but, they've got some intriguing arms that need a look at the MLB level. I'm hoping for a fun year, which means a year in which the Twins are competitive.
