  1. my worry on the mound is Hildenberger, how many times have you seen a great season then flame out the next year? If he returns to 17 form, watch out!
  2. Obviously one game, but what pitching! Odorizzi sp? Was terrific, Reed unspeakable, and even the guy who kept throwing it into the ground I can see is gonna be a big help. seems Falvine knows how to construct a team. Biggest disappointment is Sano, Im so sick of him going to the plate and not even coming close to the ball, If the the wins can trade him, move Escobar back to third and Ehire to Short Anyway excited about this season we are gonna be in it, be real contendters!
  3. Im not yet sold on Berrios, he had a disturbing let down one game out of two, is that good enough?
  4. Twins enter playoffs based on Nicky Delmonicos HR, Delmonico is the son of my high school teammate Rodney, You can thank me now!
  5. yeah. honestly im a little more comfortable with santana, because of his mentality

    Cant Trust Berrios

If the Twins make it to the Indians, who do you pitch in 3rd game? Berrios is unpredictable and I wouldnt trust him for game 3 I go with Colon...you?
  7. Santana or Gibson? Gibson has been pitching better but Santana has the superior mind set Whose your pick?
  8. Has Sano tried to come back? Doesnt seem like it does it? I thought T Duffey was great, but he clearly isnt performing, I would leave him and Sano off my playoff roster
  9. What a brilliantly managed game! Irvin solid, Hildenberger ok, but gives up tying home run. I was surprised Molly went to Buse at that juncture, but Al was up to it and pitched very well. Then Molly brings in Belisle and he pitches well, leaves him for another innning..and voila Rosario! So criticize all you want but our manager had close to a perfect game this night!
  10. What a HUGE game! Have any or our pitchers pitched 4 straight great? Ervin? This was a big, big game for Twins, How about Polanco? Where would we be without him? AWESOME!
  11. Ok, I really think he is tied with Berrios.....I cant understand the constant banging of Gibson. Yes he has pitched some terrible gamea but he also has pitched some gems, and has been competitive in other games. Yes he fails about 25% of the time....but do you have a better option? Not only is he the best option the Twins have as middle rotation pitcher.....but he should come back next year as well, Souhan is wrong. On this subject do you realize how many clunkers Berrios has thrown? What Berrios will show up tonight? On the subject of Molitor..what else do you want him to do? Two of three years he has the Twins in the playoff hunt, I guess you prefer Gardenhire?
  12. To Answer your question Seth, Slegers Gonsalves Romero Melville Jorge Hurlbut Rodrigues
  13. Looks like the Yankees got us again. Unless the AA guy has something to offer. If Enns can be sucessful in the Majors then I am coming out of Retirement! We have at least 5 pitchers in the minors that are better than him right now.
  14. Your thoughts on exchange? My No list would be Gonsalves Romero Gordon Palka Garver Slegers How about Diaz, and choice of A pitchers?
  15. I love the pick! This is the type of player that a number one pick should be, a Buxton type talent that can grow into a super star. BRAVO!
  16. In a word, TALENT, no he may never make it, but the Twins will rue the day, they passed on him if he does. Falvey et al will have no problem justifying the pick but if Wright or The Louisville Slugger...falter, the Twins FO will n never hear the end of it. The more I read about McKay or Wright, they seem relatively pedestrian compared to the Electric Greene. You rarely have the opportunity to pick #1, The Twins got a hall of famer last time they were in this position, go for another, this is a rare opportunity, sieze it!
  17. Next year the monstrosity of Joe Mauers contract comes to an end. This may leave the Twins with another dilemma. Lets assume for the moment that Joe is back, he is hitting albeit a mid 30s age player hitting, but lets say he finishes similar to where he is now and next year duplicates, do you extend him, and if so, for how much?
  18. Depends on the return of course, but if they can Package Gordon with any other prospect not named Gonsalves or Romero, they should move him for a Pitcher that has some tread. I am not saying a Rent a Cole....but somebody that might be able to give them 5+ years. The Twins are suddenly shortstop rich and have Vielma at AAA went 3-3 last night. I think Gordon is good but hardly irreplaceable...and I dont think he is a once in lifetime player like Sano or maybe Kepler, he is a good chip to have in the wallet, see what he will bring
  19. After Kinzlers blown save, I was gonna write urging the Twins to find a real closer, a la Nathan, Perkins.etc After last night I am rethinking, Kinzler was good...and Ive seen him good before, my question for you, is he a long term solution?
  20. Clemson and Vanderbilt, could NOT have met in the SEC tournament, since Clemson is in the ACC
  21. This kid just won the Gatorade Player of the Year 6 2 LHP that touches 94 He is 10-0 with a 0.20 ERA and 145 strikeouts in 68 1/3 innings this season. At the plate, Gore is hitting a team-best .482 with 17 extra-base hits and 27 RBI. Who else has won the award? 7: RHP Rick Porcello (West Orange, N.J.) 2006: LHP/1B Clayton Kershaw (Dallas) 2005: SS/3B Justin Upton (Chesapeake, Va.) 2004: RHP/SS Mark Rogers (Topsham, Maine) 2003: OF Chris Lubanski (Collegeville, Pa.) 2002: RHP/SS Zack Greinke (Apopka, Fla.) Remember the name Mackenzie Gore Could go as high as 3, but most likely in top 10

    My Rule 5 Pick

There are some real intriguing arms in this draft. With Falveys guidance, I think there is a good chance the Twins strike gold in this draft. That said, i want to explain my choice and the one I hope the Twins will make. There are probably at least five arms to look at and all of them have their different merits. Can we all agree that the Twins will not be in the pennant race next year? If you agree, or even think thats plausible, then I say, go for potential, go for the rare arm as unrefined as it may be, and play for the future superstar Here is Baseball Americas write up on this very guy: Julian Fernandez, rhp, Rockies: Asking Fernandez to pitch in the big leagues right now would be like tossing the keys to a new Ferrari to a 16-year-old and telling them take it for a spin around the Nurburgring. Fernandez walked 7.8 batters per nine innings in short-season Boise–he struck out 19 and walked 20 in 23 innings. He’s yet to throw a pitch in full season ball. But Fernandez has a truly special right arm. As a reliever, Fernandez sits at 98-100, touching 102-103 with outstanding life. He doesn’t really have a secondary pitch he can rely on yet and his fastball misses the zone almost as often as it finds it, but a rebuilding team could take a chance on one of the best arms in baseball, sit him on the bench in all but blowout games and hope that a few years from now, they have a dominant reliever.
  23. Maybe you dont understand, He is one of the best players in the nation, likely to be picked in the top 5, Not sure if he is higher rated as 3b, or Pitcher, but if its close, I still say its the perfect storm, if you can find another Twins pick like this, I would like to know about it.
