  1. I stopped being a Rocco fan for 1 very particular reason. The 2019 ALDS and the complete mismanagement of the bullpen, in my opinion. Duffy, Rogers, Romo and May should have been the main arms. I forget what Rocco said afterwards, but there's no excuse to not use your top arms in a game deciding moment. Also, forever shame on Ervin Santana for not removing himself from the 2017 wildcard game. Twins had the momentum and then he "had nothing".
  2. I'm just gonna throw it out there. I think the Twins would have been a better and more together team if Jorge Polanco was still here (yes, he struggled in Seattle). But, betting on Julien was the first of many mistakes just like betting on Kirlloff to stay healthy... or keeping Farmer over Polanco.. signing Santana until he magically picked it up... Margot over Michael A Taylor.. bad decisions all around I don't think getting rid of Max Kepler is smart either
  3. But, technically even based off an April 30th article on here, he wouldn't need to "learn" anything, just bring back the slider he had. Fastball, sweeper, slider, curve may help. I think it was the Rockies game... It was basically fastball, curve, fastball, curve or fastball, sweeper, fastball sweeper. I'm not saying 2 or 11 is a lot but I figure occasionally throwing it could help if you know you're getting either 94 or 74mph every pitch
  4. I mentioned this on X, but didn't get any traction or reaction. I don't think Thielbar is done. I think he badly needs another pitch or the threat of another pitch along with better execution. It seems like his most dominate seasons came when he had what fangraphs calls a changeup or splitter even though he barely threw them. 2 changes in 2021 and 11 splitters in 2022. During his routine season, he was last out in the second half of the season.
  5. Crazy Idea; I'd rather have both Polanco (until at least the All-Star Break) and Julien and trade Farmer. But really though, I'm just thankful Derek Carr doesn't play baseball so he can't destroy both of my teams.
  6. In all honesty, I remember Cuddyer that year way more than Mauer. Cuddyer played a huge role when Morneau went out with his back injury. This isn't to take away from Mauer's accomplishments that year.
