  1. Yup. Thing of it is, leadoff double, you don't need a hit to score.
  2. This home plate umpire is atrocious.
  3. Hopefully not one of those nights where the bats go quiet with RISP.
  4. Stopping your home run trot to pose at third base is bush league.
  5. https://www.baseball-reference.com/players/l/leetr01.shtml Lee had a decent career but wasn't anything special.
  6. Availability or lack thereof derails a lot of careers but I don't think you can say Canterino and Prielipp are among their worst picks. Still early.
  7. Sabato was a weird pick. Kind of a throw back player. I imagine his comparable would be Steve Balboni.
  8. Crazy to think that he's still only 23.
  9. I'd like Kopech but I think some team will wind up overpaying for him. Relievers will be a hot commodity.
  10. Yeah, similar situation to Aaron Judge. Didn't hit free agency until he was 30.
  11. Geez. I'm not sure what the disconnect is here. A lot of players are happy with their team and situation and still leave for more money. That doesn't mean the player didn't want to be where he was.
  12. Falvey and Levine are the spin masters. We see it all the time. They were negotiating with Boras as much as they were negotiating with Ohtani last winter. When the deal with the Mets fell through, Boras wasn't pivoting to the Twins on his own accord. His client directed him to do that. And the rest is history.
  13. Boras and the player's union have a vested interest in his clients chasing top $$$. This happens every winter. There is a reason why these guys go un-signed for so long. It's also a big reason why Boras will lose clients. Correa's chasing the money isn't necessarily indicative of where he really wanted to be.
  14. Reading comprehension. It can be your friend. Did I say that a player had influence over the FO's decision making? It's 2024. Not 1994. Free agency is anything but a straight line.
  15. Did I say that Buxton opened negotiations? You can believe what you want. Every free agency decision has layers to it and gray areas. If you think it is linear, then that's your opinion.
  16. It isn't misinformation. You think Buxton wasn't prompted by Correa? You think Boras reached out to Falvey without Correa's direction?
