  1. Yikes! The way things are going... why not Berrios? A one-hitter tonight! He might catch up to everybody else.
  2. And now for some good news: Kohl Stewart pitched one-hit ball for six innings today!
  3. Come on. That's not fair to those kids.
  4. Yes! I remember that!
  5. nine runs. not bad. Using advanced sabermetrics I predict we should need 18.76 runs today for the win. If Bartlett has to be pulled for a wrist injury that number significantly decreases to 14.83 runs.
  6. hahahahahahaahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha hat-trick
  7. Hey everybody. Don't get mad at Bartlett. He's so bad out there, surely...I mean surely they'll never let him play out there again. Ahhh, never mind.
  8. Just like everyone thought: offense is terrible, pitching is solid
  9. Wow! It's like Bartlett has never played outfield before! Oh...wait.
  10. Yeah. Surely they don't send him if there's just 1 out.
  11. So apparently a double, sac fly, sac fly is better than a solo home run because they do it as a team. But you give up 2 outs. Wha?!
  12. Twins pitching looks great so far!
  13. Interesting thought. Let's hope all those guys pan out. As someone married to a Latina (Peruvian), speaking the language, and having done extensive travels in Latin America, I can say that most Latinos are that way for sure. Probably half or more of my friends are Latinos and there's rarely a dull moment. There are definitely exceptions and a variety of Latin people groups, but most are full of life, let's just say. Typically they are very proud of the way they are too. I think even more important than being boisterous though is that they are passionate. If they love doing something, they go after it!
  14. You're speaking my language!
  15. interestingly, Sanó directly translated means "He healed"
  16. Yes! I loved the Expos! I actually probably liked them more than the Jays. It's just they never got anywhere.
  17. It's hard to imagine cheering for the Jays now. BTW twinsnorth are you from Manitoba? It seems like there's a decent number of Twins fans up there? I grew up in Swan River.
  18. I'm a long time lurker here and will definitely admit I don't have the baseball IQ of a lot of people on here, so I'm thankful for all the stats figured out by others. I too have a lot of hope for the future because of the farm. For now our pitching is pretty unbelievably bad though. But I think that can change. I heard someone say this about politics but I think it applies to sports too, "Things are never as good or bad as they seem." So there is definitely hope. And about the Twins WS in 87 and 91 I have a very different take. Back then when I was a kid I lived in Canada and was a Jays fan. I remember really hating the Twins after they beat "my" Jays in the ALCS in 91. Then the Jays won in 92 and 93 and I basically forgot about baseball for 10 years and didn't follow it. As destiny would have it I moved to Minnesota in 03. A buddy of mine was a huge Twins fan and I quickly found myself falling in love with the Twins. Each year got me more into it especially 06. In 2010 I found myself addicted to the Twins and watched almost every game! The irony is that all the teams I cheer for usually suck, and out of my favorite teams, the last team in any sport to win a championship is a team I could care less about now and the team I care about now won championships exactly when I didn't care about them. Oh well, someday. Cheers
  19. Doe-zee-eh!
  20. When I first saw the title of the article I thought, DARN right they should pay. Look at what they've done! Punish them! Then I realized that it was referring to money. HAHA
  21. Yeah I always think a good rule of thumb is don't judge a young player until he's had either 2 good seasons or 2 bad seasons in a row. It seems almost anybody can have one good season, but putting 2 good seasons back-to-back shows me that somebody has "made it." And the reverse is kinda true too. Sometimes a young player just needs a little time to figure things out and then BOOM! And in a game of millimeters you can see how a kid makes one or two small adjustments and everything changes. You can't coronate or condemn them after one year.
  22. Well last year Dozier was historically bad too. And now look. I don't think it's that big a deal that no one stuck very well. I think it was more just coincidence that these guys are all at a similar stage of development(we didn't have many good AAA prospects this year). Now if the same thing happens next year I'd be worried, because that excuse won't fly for a number of them. Arcia, Hicks, Gibson etc. better show some improvement. I'm really looking forward to seeing Arcia hit the ball to the upper deck.
  23. I don't really think anything went wrong. The players we have are just not that good (with a few exceptions). Anything that went wrong was well before the season started. Expecting my 03 Chevy Impala to win the Indy 500 is just unrealistic. In other news bring on Sano, Buxton, Rosario, Meyer, etc. Can hardly wait for 2014! Even though we'll probably still suck, it should be fun to watch.
  24. I'm pretty sure we're in the anals of Twins pitching history right now.
  25. He's right. You never know. But I think you also have to make your own luck, like say, raising the left and right field fences about 20 feet. That would keep opponent's home runs down and reduce whiplash injuries to our pitchers and fielders. win win. Maybe that'll put us over the top
