  1. Public service announcement time: If there is a way to get the Twins Radio broadcast from today get it. I was listening to the game on the radio and in the Twins half of the third Marney Gellnor was a guest. It was by far the funniest and best half inning I have ever listened to. I had no idea she was that funny and witty. You will thank me later.
  2. That Duran guy has some pretty nasty stuff!!!
  3. Thank you for that reference. I was wondering if I was the only one old enough on this site to remember and think of Tony Conigliaro.
  4. It's easy to forget that the Twins are currently in first place in the division. They are predicted to be an 80-85 win team, which is reflective of their current record. I think we all know if the hitters were hitting like predicted the Twins would have 10 more wins and would be kicking ass in the American League. The lack of hitting, the little league fielding plays and mental errors are frustrating but these players are in their 20's, a long ways from being considered wise. It's easier to be negative than positive after an error and I know I have some 'hope springs eternal' hangover frustration about this team. Here's to hoping they find their way out of the funk starting tonight.
  5. tough crowd on this thread. O.P. has 30 posts in 7 years. He might not be so chatty after the lashes he has received on this thread.
  6. Twins deserved to lose this game. Ryan didn't but everyone else deserves to lose it.
  7. Colome with the White Sox is nice, any chance we can sneak Pagan onto the Guardians staff?
  8. With the price of eggs Joe might be looking for a part time job.
  9. Things about to get interesting. Not in a good way.
  10. ok, who tweeted Brehmer to straighten out his pocket fisherman gaffe?
  11. Anyone else remember when Harmon was teamed up with John Rooney for TV broadcasts? Only lasted one year. Mid 80's 9th inning, Twins leading. Opponent makes first out of the inning. Rooney: There's the all important first out of the inning. Harmon, do you argee that the first out is the most important out of the inning? Harmon: no, I think the third out is the most important out of the inning. Rooney: then why do they say the first out is the most important out of the inning? Harmon: I have no idea. I lost lots of games with one out in the ninth inning. Followed by a long dead air silence. You could tell they did not get along.
  12. nope, respectfully typed. It was a sad day when Harmon was jettisoned to KC to finish out his career.
  13. you must be getting social security checks and remember when Jim Kaat was a Twins pitcher.
  14. Buxton was 33 to 1 for league MVP in Vegas this spring.
  15. this Buxton as DH is kinda working out........
  16. I kinda like the three run homer!
  17. are you using your Texas Instrument calculator today?
  18. the umpires are cold. Probably heading to San Diego after todays game.
  19. side topic on Rocco, shame on him for not letting Drew Maggi play after being called up last year. It's not like the Twins were neck and neck with the Guardians at the end of September. Article on ESPN.
  20. wind is blowing somewhat out to right field, somewhat foul to right field. Better wear a hard hat near the foul pole.
  21. Pagan's stuff is electric but he falls behind 3-0 and has the habit of grooving a pitch right down the middle because he needs to throw a strike. The hitters are just waiting him out. Paddock possibly will provide 2 good years of starting pitching after signing the extension. The major leagues is a league of adjustments. Let's see how well Rooker hits after the league adjusts to his success. The scouts will find his weakness and exploit it. But for now, good for him. The Padres' may look at this trade as a win for them by subtraction as most of TD subscribers look at the Donaldson trade as a win by subtraction for the Twins. When the trade happened, I looked at it as Rogers for Paddock and Rooker for Pagan, one trade for addition, one for subtraction.
