    It was getting to the point where Butera was going to start blocking better players. So just getting rid of him was good, but getting a solid looking low A pitcher seems like a steal. I would have expected a pitcher like this for Morneau, considering his remaining salary.

    I'm sure the Twins losing and lack of upper talent situation has played into some of these players signing with the Twins over better MLB teams. Knowing they will have a better chance of making the majors.

    Hopefully Albers can keep it going. Obviously he will eventually give up a run, but hopefully he can continue to pitch well. It will be interesting to see how he fares playing a team a second time.

    Really enjoyed watching Carroll play. Glad he was with the Twins as long as he was.

    As good as our position players have been it pretty disappointing how May and Meyers seasons have gone. Hopefully Berrios and Stewart can pitch well and be part of the rotation of the future.

    I think he could make Doumit a trade candidate this off season.

    I didn't think he would make it past the first not the or two. Defense has been great and the bat has been good enough. Especially with the bit of power he has hit for. If he could hit for higher average he would be a stud.

    The bullpen is one thing that Gardy manages well. Everyone knows their role and as seen by this team they seem to excel. I remember Burton praising them for the way they handled him coming back from his surgery.

    Before this season started I was really thinking the Twins should be ready to compete as early as 2014. As this season has gone on I think its going to be a ways longer. The biggest weakness of the organization is still pitching even after the additions last offseason. At the same time if the position players continue to progress well they could just concentrate on free agent pitchers or unfortunately trade some position players for them.

    I cant believe Hicks made it this far into the season hitting under .200 before being demoted. I just hope he comes around. Defense is good, base stealing could improve, power is good if he gets more contact, but he needs the average to climb for sure.

    I like Hicks but I can't believe he lasted 105 games hitting below 200 before getting sent down.

    How much does New Britain not making the playoffs play into a possible Sano September call up? Assuming he is playing well.

    I like Walters bull dog mentality. Just wish he could translate his AAA success better to the bigs. Berrios must be getting tired. Seems like hes giving up more walks than you would expect.

    I don't see Pelfrey taking a discount off of what he could get on the open market. Which is what he would have to do to get resigned in MN. I'm sure his desire to stay in MN is legit but I doubt he'll get a competitive deal from TR. Even if they got a liriano type deal I would have to trade him.

    Nice to see Walker and Vargas continuing to play well after other star players have moved up and/or changed.

    I bet Arcia left the game early to catch a plane to take Mauers spot while he's on maternity leave.

    I think the Twins are hoping for Pelfrey to continue to improve so he can be traded soon and open a roster spot for Albers or someone else. I think that's why he started first after the all star break to give him more starts before the deadline. Obviously that opens a second spot in the rotation.

    I've headed across the state twice this year to CR. Very nice stadium and the Kernel's staff does an excellent job keeping everyone entertained and engaged. They have definitely earned return trips from me.
