  1. Coaching Jobs are not meant to be secure. But this job has been one of the most secure in baseball since TK started way back when
  2. Right, and these position battles are all to see who can play alongside Buxton in 2017. Bux might force Hicks to RF
  3. I can speak for myself, and say that I will be following the box scores of the Minor Leagues Twins's affiliates much more consistently than I will be watching the MLB Twins or purchasing tickets to Target Field. Furthermore, I have not been to Target Field since I witness JJ Hardy homer there as an Oriole. I also witnessed Revere's Gibby "Play of the Year" to rob Vlad during the same game. No lie, check it out here:Baseball Video Highlights & Clips | 8/22/11: Hardy, Britton lead O's past Twins - Video | MLB.com: Multimedia
  4. When thinking about Benson's potential...maybe he sticks in MN and hits for power. He would be a great trading chip for the deadline. Hicks is going to debut this year or next, so maybe Joe can provide more prospects in trade once Hicks does come up for good
  5. That is my best-case scenario too. Honestly cannot wait for Arcia. He is a real baller. Hicks seems more like he will struggle for awhile. But I'm also excited to see Aaron play d in CF
  6. I would have to agree with the article. Gardy may be around in 2014. Heck, he may even get a shot at managing Sano? The Twins will lose 85 games next year, but not their manager.
  7. Benson had a decent spring last year. If he does that again, do the Twins start him in CF and keep Hicks down until May 7?
  8. Benson to AAA rather than Hicks?
  9. Who do you have flying North with the Twins this April? I'm sticking my neck out here, but.... Pitchers Burnett Burton Correia Diamond Duensing Fein Hendriks Hernandez Perkins Pressly Swarzak Worley Infielders/Catchers Mauer Morneau Plouffe Florimon Dozier Escobar Doumit Carroll Butera Outfielders Willingham Benson Parmelee Mastroianni
  10. Seth recently highlighted Trevor May and his ascent from 4th round pick to #1 Philly prospect in four short years. Jones is a college arm, but could move into the top-10 with a dominant follow-up to his 2012.
  11. "May"-king a Name for Himself. "May" be Zach Jones (4th rounder) will become the Twins #1 prospect in a few years? Nice article Seth.
  12. Yes, I have trouble comparing stats to past stars. But I can see the similarities in body type and "stuff" between JO and Pedro. Has nothing to do with stats. When comparing Slowey and Verlander, thier body-types are not even comparable. And the "stuff" is so different that they are a poor comparison overall.
  13. Jones starts in A+?
  14. If we wait a while by starting Mastro we keep player control for one more year, right? Is it May 7th that we have to wait for?
  15. If Oswaldo Arcia reproduces his numbers from New Britain in Rochester this coming year, then when and how should the front office pave the road for his arrival in Minnesota? There are many different possibilities for re-arrangement with the club carrying four 1B/DH-types. (Mauer, Doumit, Morneau, Parmelee)
  16. Uh...I think it's clear that Mastro is the favorite, at least to begin the season.
  17. If Capps is outside the organization, lets keep it that way. Nothing personal. Just business
  18. Yep, I'm going back to my original stance. I agree with this totally. He is not worth signing at any price in my opinion. I'm sticking to this stance.
  19. I guess Capps for one million is reasonable, IF he can maintain a certain weight (a la Delmon). But it has to be one year or no deal.
  20. And the reports on Harrison's defense are awful. As for Minier, no shot at sticking up-the-middle somewhere?
  21. You can never have enough GOOD pitching. You CAN have enough bad pitching. 2012 and 2011 are good examples of that. Capps was a major part of both those bullpens.
  22. I see Theilbar in the Minnesota bullpen late in 2013. Maybe Duensing is needed to start, and that's how he gets his first shot?
  23. Maybe he was a slow runner at second? But yes, Ozzie Arcia is a true-baller that can do a little bit of everything on the baseball field. Could develop into an MLB All-Star...
