  1. Who would you rather see open the 2013 season at 2-bag, Brian Dozier or Ed Rosario? Obviously, it would be a lot more fun to see Eddie. But, we won't. Rosario is now 5-8 with a homer in a few games off the bench this spring.
  2. Yeah man...Hicks is going to be special. He keeps getting better at the plate and on the bases, and should be a real nice Major-League centerfielder
  3. Yes Old Goat. We could have a 2015 lineup of..... 1. Hicks - CF 2. Rosario - 2B 3. Mauer - C 4. Sano - 3B 5. Arcia - RF 6. Parmalee or Vargas - 1B 7. Benson? - DH 8. Roberts - LF 9. Santana - SS
  4. Pitching it is!! Our first choice anyway, right?
  5. If the Twins could work something out for Jurickson Profar....do it. Include any minor leaguers but Sano/Rosario, and I would pull the trigger
  6. Swarzak is not that good. I say give Slama his spot on the 40-man
  7. I do not see any scenario where Willingham gets traded for another OF, or a C (we are pretty much set for hitters right now), but maybe a SS. I would bet Terry Ryan will be looking for nothing but pitching in return for Josh, and Justin too, for that matter.
  8. Slama just needs an opportunity. I see him being a crafty middle relief guy if given a real shot somewhere. Hopefully wont be life-long minor leaguer
  9. You can view the page at http://twinsdaily.com/content.php?r=1404-The-Blizzard-of-Oz
  10. As I look out any window, I am blinded by the results of several recent blizzards that have left Dakota Territory with an ultra-reflective blanket of glaring white snow. Nothing makes me miss Minnesota Twins baseball more. I close my eyes, but it’s not blackness. An orange-ish haze is all see, due to the sunlight attempting to breach my lightly-closed eyelids. Despite the overflow of natural light, I am able to envision big things for the Twins in my mind’s eye. A Venezuelan outfielder, Oswaldo Arcia, appears to be a mighty storm of a player. He will be ready to blow through the American League soon. Just how intense will the “Blizzard of Oz” be? [PRBREAK][/PRBREAK] The Twins signed Arcia as a 16-year-old back in 2007. His numbers as a 17-year-old in the GCL were very similar to Miguel Sano’s at the same age. He has sustained that production successfully up to the AA level. He really has nothing left to prove at any level but AAA. He has slow-cooked to perfection and will start his sixth year with the organization on the cusp of forcing a big-league call-up. Please take a look at the things he was doing in New Britain last year. Arcia’s accomplishments label him as a pure baller, and he will be a nice addition to the big club very soon. There is no need to rush him to the Major Leagues. But we could see a path cleared for Oswaldo mid-summer in 2013. His arrival would feel like a “Coors Light Blizzard” during the swelter of July and August (refreshing). And that will feel like Venezuela in February. This ain't HD, but listen to the wonderful sound Arcia's bat speed creates. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7fugm0m6kyo
  11. I think the Profar card is airbrushed a bit to make it flashier?? After all, it a Topps RC
  12. hahaha! I love baseball cards... hilarious Fein card. Imagine that showing up in a pack of Topps...Kevin Slowey the body?
  13. Maybe Dozier produces like he did in AA with the MLB club, then in 2015, you have Dozier at SS, Rosario at 2B, and Santana UTIL. Hopefully Sano is at 3B, and Vargas/Parmelee/anyone good, is at 1B. OF would be Roberts/Hicks/Arcia, with ultra-prospects Buxton and Kepler in AA or higher. Not even mentioning how good the pitching staff could be in 2015 with trades of Morneau and/or Willingham for pitchers-only. Then the draft in June......!!!! Could be a real nice squad in 2015
  14. Very nice Old Goat. Yeah, concerns surround Sano's high K totals and he still hasn't hit .300 at any level above the GCL. Their GCL stats are similar, and they were both 17 in that league. But beyond their GCL stats, Arcia has been a true high-average-hitter, while Sano has been a true power-guy. Obviously, we will all be glued to milb.com's boxscores to see if Sano can hit around .290 next year in a tough FSL. Just a myriad of interesting players to follow in the Twins org.
  15. 25 Hr's 50 SB's per year - maybe a Gold glove or two
  16. Looks like they are going to be cautious. I hope oswaldo doesnt try to do too much and this is something that comes up again mid-season
  17. If that happens, we might have a top-of-the-AL rotation by 2015
  18. How bout moving Morneau AND Willingham for multiple pitchers each? I see a scenario very much like dealing the two speedy guys last offseason. Except this year, its sluggers that will be moved to make way for Arcia/Hicks/Vargas.
  19. Baller
  20. He looks like an All-Star caliber RF. I think he will stick in RF, while the other guys (Roberts, Benson, Mastroianni, eventually Kepler and Buxton) fight over LF and Hicks takes over CF. He makes some very exciting plays with his arm, and I think he stays in RF where he can loose his cannon more often.
  21. Yes. excellent. agreed
  22. Go Colabello! Gotta root for a guy like that.
  23. How do we clear the way for Oswaldo Arcia by the start of 2014? There are a ton of possibilities here, so be creative.... http://twinsdaily.com/entry.php?b=2545
