  1. Nice article Nick. I have been pulling for Florimon to somehow provide adequate production at SS and he seems to be doing it. I would be happy with an OPS in the mid-600's out of him for the season if he can continue to limit the errors/mental mistakes. He is just a stop-gap, but at his current production I am happy with that.
  2. I hate to link to something Souhan wrote, but for the most part he is just relaying info rather than posting opinion. Ryan says Gibson close, but not quite ready | StarTribune.com I know many of you don't believe what he says, but he is pretty clearly saying it has nothing to do with Super 2 status. I find it rather humorous that many people were very critical of the Twins for starting Hicks' clock early and now many are complaining that we are doing the opposite with Gibson. Ryan really can't win either way. I guess that's why he is paid the big bucks.
  3. Saw this on Gleeman's Link-o-Rama:
  4. Even if yours is the right one, we will never know. Unless of course you can read Terry Ryan's mind.
  5. Has anybody thought that it might be as simple as Gibson being scheduled to start on Friday and that having him start on Monday might not be ideal. Obviously they aren't going to have him start if he pitches tomorrow. If they were to skip him tomorrow it could mess up his routine, which they probably don't want to do since he is coming off surgery. Call me naive, but sometimes the simple answer is the right one.
  6. Diamond is not doing MUCH worse than expected. He has 4 quality starts out of seven and his numbers are greatly skewed by his last outing. Prior to that he was at 4.08 ERA. Do you expect much better than that? His numbers last year are about his ceiling.
  7. Haven't seen all of the game, but I would concur that this zone is not very consistent. Smalley seems to agree.
  8. Not that I want this, but I sense a DL trip for Trevor. Carroll to 3B and Colabello up?
  9. That looked worse than Morneau's but you just never know.
  10. Appel is not going to make it to #4. All three teams above us need SP. You can hope, but I don't see it happening.
  11. Hicks wins for worst AB's of the Year with Two Strikes. He's pretty much "stick a fork in him" at that point.
  12. No, that would win the Worst Grouping of AB of the Year.
  13. I may have been a little quick to compliment Florimon earlier.
  14. And tonight Morneau doesn't look much better.
  15. Most of the time I would say it is just you....but you are correct.
  16. I would say go for it. If Hellickson starts to pick it up, drop Kendrick. Your staff doesn't look great, so you probably can't sacrifice tallying stats for rate stats.
  17. Geez, is Ortiz using a walker to get to 1B????
  18. Because you are not used to seeing a pitcher of this caliber, except on other teams. (I'm guessing that was your point.)
  19. Who are your top 6? You must have daily roster changes. If so, I would drop him for the streaming spot.
  20. Repeat: I hate playing that guy (Pedroia)!
  21. Tough play, but I have to admit I thought the same thing.
  22. Give me an idea of who you might have available to pick up.
  23. The way this game started I thought I'd be switching to American Pickers by the 5th or 6th. Worley didn't look sharp and Buchholz did. I only hope Duensing can keep from making this worse. Need a K here.
