  1. I'm looking forward to seeing what Brandon Lopez can do in a full season next year. You can't get too excited about a player's numbers when they're playing against younger competition, but he seems to have a good approach at the plate, and hopefully he can add a little power.
  2. It's a lot easier to be considered the team of the future when your prospects have yet to endure their struggles in the major leagues.
  3. Have you and I been watching the same Shabazz?
  4. How can you say the playoffs are a pipe dream when the 8th seed (Portland) has only 1 less loss than the Wolves?
  5. I don't get the limited upside thing with Brock Stewart. I don't know a whole lot about him, but in 2016, he had a 1.79 ERA with 9.6 K/9 and just 1.4 BB/9 and only 6.5 H/9. He did that while playing in some pretty good hitters leagues.
  6. The established pitcher with no injury history would get more in a trade is my guess.
  7. Rubio has had a down year, and of course his shooting doesn't help with spacing, but he has a positive effect in setting up the scorers to score.
  8. The problem is that point-Wiggins isn't a very effective late game offense. The silly part is not having Rubio initiate the offense when he's in the game.
  9. This sure is picking up steam today. I'm predicting it gets done in the next 24 hours. Deleon and Verdugo, or maybe Brock Stewart.
  10. Can you imagine Sano and Gallo batting 4th and 5th in the order? That would be both awesome and maddening.
  11. My main point was that Profar was #1 in a weak prospect list, while Buxton at the top of a strong list. And wouldn't him being a free agent so young make him less likely to want to sign an extension? Also, I'm not claiming Buxton is worth slightly more than Profar, I'm saying he is worth much much more.
  12. Jurickson Profar was the #1 prospect for 1 year, but look at the talent in the rankings behind him and compare that to when Buxton was #1 for 3 years. Profar was a great prospect, but Buxton was at a different level. And 2 extra years of control is a huge factor in trades Profar has done nothing of value on the field for 3 years. To say his value is similar to Byron Buxton's right now is ridiculous..
  13. It should be a fun revenge game tonight against the Bulls. The Wolves "Big 3" seem to play well in nationally televised games.
  14. And he'll probably have to play in a corner outfield spot due to the Rangers talent at his other positions. His bat doesn't profile too well other than at middle infield.
  15. I don't think they are valued closely at all. Buxton has 2 extra years of control, has no defensive questions, has less injury concern, and has way better overall tools and minor league numbers than Profar.
  16. I was concerned Jayson Tatum was "soft" from watching some of his high school stuff, but he's competed well in the short amount of time he's been able to play this year. He's shown a lot of his offensive skill too. Another guy that I forgot to mention earlier is Miles Bridges. It would be nice to have a SF who goes after rebounds, and he would fit right into this high flying team.
  17. Yeah there's quite a few free agents that fit that mold: Hayward, Gallinari, Iguodala. The draft also could provide a big 3 for depth and eventual starter. I really like Jonathan Isaac right now. If they're really bad, Jayson Tatum looks like he could be a stud. O.G. Anunoby isn't quite as big, but he plays big and is a good defender.
  18. Not sure if joking, but that's Stuart Turner.
  19. I wonder how much cheaper the cost would have been for the Nats to acquire Andrew McCutchen. It'll be interesting to see how this affects his trade market.
  20. This just sounds wrong: Adam Eaton traded for a top 5 prospect, plus a top 50 prospect, and a recent first round pick. I just can't get over this trade.
  21. I guess the metrics really like Eaton's defense. Plus, he's got the 5 years of control left compared to 2 for Dozier.
  22. If Gavin Lux is the second piece, I'd be pretty disappointed. I think the aim should be higher than that.
  23. You would have to think so. I thought Reynaldo Lopez would almost be too much to give up for Eaton straight up, but I think I'm underrating how good Eaton is. Still, what a haul for the White Sox.
  24. Ok, maybe Dozier is worth both Urias and Deleon...
  25. And they get Reynaldo Lopez too? This trade is ridiculous!!!
