  1. More like verlanders everything lol...
  2. My post while it is sounds trollish, childish, or whatever you want to call it... I believe it is warranted. I absolutley cannot stand players that compain about things like this, and how much attention it gets. Collisions like this come with the job. Your the highest paid catcher in mlb history, your 6'5" 230 lbs and your complaining about a guy giving you a charlie horse. Brett Favre said it all when reacting to the saints bounty In the NFL “Now the truth comes out. That’s good. But that’s football. The only thing that really pisses me off about the whole thing is we lost the game. That’s the thing about that day that still bothers me. And that’s the way it goes. If they wanted me to testify in court about this, they’d be calling the wrong guy.”
  3. Mauer is a baby and weeks is a D%#$&... So i dont care about this situation
  4. Sabathia slider or kershaw curve for active players.... I think maddux 2-seam for non-active
  5. Hmm nicknames havnt caught on yet... Lets see some parmalee cheese
  6. Pitcher tonight... "diamond cutter" or "gem"
  7. Sano-ara??
  8. Sorry if this isnt the Right forum for this but i thought it was appropriate. I used to visit ESPN forums a lot and it used to be a lot of fun to make nicknames whenever somone posts the gamethread for the day. So in the spirit of that, post your nicknames for our players and i hope the creator for the gamethreads has fun with this Here my random day lineup: 1) spandemonium 2) lil general (revere) 3) mauer pauer 4) willinghammer 5) The big canuk 6) Doom 7) Bulldozier 8) Plouff it's gone 9) sing me a carroll Im sure you all can come up with better names than that!
  9. Yea but a prime santana only comes around once a decade (if that). Hendricks showed a lot of poise in the brief stint he had so far at the major league level and it looks like hes worked out any kinks after going back to AAA. Hes ready!!
  10. Hes ready... He needs to come back up... Sub 2 era with 5-0 record. Almost 50 innings pitched with nearly a K per inning. I dont know how much better one can do in AAA. I would like to see the team move blackburn out of the rotation but since that pribably wont happen maybe they can move walters?
  11. Mark my words if plouff was still in this game instead of casilla we win
  12. Ok i came on tonght just to complain.... Why on gods earth did gardy pinch run casilla for plouff with 2 outs in the seventh? Especially the way plouff has been hitting... Hes not that slow anyway!!!!! Thats just bad management...... I would take plouff with another batting opportunity over casillas glove anyday as well
  13. No. 14 last night
  14. Unfortunately i believe parmalee will end up being one of those career AAA guys and maybe a replacement in the majors. Hes always done really well in AAA but i just dont think he has the chops in the majors
  15. Bump... He hit no 12 last night and 13 tonight... Hes been going all plouffy on us hitting bombs and nothing else.... Slumping to only hitting about .140 and only 4 walks for his last 10 games.... On another note can anyone believe this kid just turned 19 this month?
  16. Ugh swarzak... So why are we starting swarzak again? They showed the stat at the beginning of the game.. Rediculously high era as a starter, rediculously low era as a reliever.... Lets go ahead and start him, especially against a team he usually struggles against
  17. Dozier still proving he is the man
  18. So how about we start talking about the game and how the twins have 2 runs and 3 hits in the first inning... Lets hope swarzak can get his location settled he got a bit lucky in the first inning
  19. Just goes to show how worthless it is to try and sum up these prospects. Its like if we tried to rank whos the best player in the MLB, yea there might be a stand out person we call mvp just for fun, but if we try to start ranking people our list would change every month. Example: best rank jared weaver ever got was 57 according to BA
  20. I havnt read all the posts so maybe this has been said.. But moving fenses in to help our offense is also helping the other teams offense who dont seem to have much a problem hitting homeruns in target field. (maybe we are better off hiring players like willingham who are good at pulling the ball and hitting homeruns in the field instead of tayloring the field for our current lack of power)
  21. Im sorry but the stats posted seem like 2 random pieces to a much bigger puzzle. The way i look at those stats is not that the team is less successful because they are playing less agressive or have slower runners, but when the twins are playing better offensive ball overall their going to get all together more hits, sb opportunities, extra base hits, HRs et... And will win more games. Plus our pitching wasnt this god awful. What good is a stolen base with 2 outs if the next guy cant get on base himself? What may be more relevant is seeing the stats for our hitters with risp vs previous years. The yankees dont win games because of the ammount of stolen bases and HRs they get its because they have overal good timely offense
  22. The moneyball approach did have a thing for power but equally has enthusasum for obp (ultimately ops). ultimately a team is buying bases and runs per number of outs. It also would also view stolen bases like a potential sacrifice. Sacrifices (including sac flys, bunts etc..) are counterproductive and unecessary because it brings forth an out. Bringing this back to speed... Speed has the potential to elimate sacrifices and other outs like double plays. A bunt where the batter reaches is way more productive than a sacrifice bunt.
  23. I agree that stolen bases are a bad way to judge speed. Speed is one of those things that have a large impact on the game but comes with a great ammount of intangibles, so we get stuck trying to improperly judge it with stats like stolen bases and fielding percentages. Take a look at revere for instance. His speed is super effective not because he steals bases but because of the potential he has to take an extra base. This will wreak havoc on a pitchers focus on throwing the next strike and can change the others team strategy on how to play the next several batters when he gets a hit or is on base.
  24. If he can just get on base he needs to be in the lineup... With his speed he doesnt need to be hitting xb hits, (if he does its just a bonus)
  25. I know its kinda hard to compare because of lack of data but it makes my kind of excited to think about it... but Shibuya's projections are actually similar to Bert Blylevens at this point
