  1. Call me the blind optimist but if the twins can get their earned runs per game around 4.0 (hopefully less) and our avg runs per game above 4.0 then we should ultimately Finnish with a winning record right? Don't forget we do have an extra wild card this year, and I'm gonna call a Detroit disappointment this year (not that they won't win games but defiantly Finnish lower than expected with their mish-mash of a wannabe Yankee team)
  2. Well with all four guys being almost identical in age and career length delmon/kubel avg about .770 ops 106 ops+ and willingham/doumit About .800 ops 124 ops+ so I would say that it's an upgrade especially considering the new guys don't look like their wearing forest gumps "magic shoes" when their running. Oh and p.s. cuddyer didn't raise the stats much at all
  3. Yea but at least cuddyer would try to throw guys out at first
  4. Haven't seen a lot of chatter about Capps this spring and how abysmal he's been performing. I know it's spring but I thought the twins signed this guy because they believed that last year was a fluke. It's looking like he's just continuing the same performance. Guy has a near 6 era over 11 innings (a fair Sample for a closer IMO) 14 h 4 hr and a 307 opponent avg. are we really gonna trust this guy for the whole season. I really hope they don't just keep him in there because of his contract if he doesn't improve.
  5. I completely understand where everyone is coming from on this topic, to the seasoned analytical fan this definitely makes sense for the team. The thing that tears me apart is the fact that Ben was the main reason for me (and I'm sure many other fans) To get exited to watch a game in last years dismal season. Nobody can refute that this kid can single handedly make a twins game exciting to watch. I understand that he could definitely learn in triple-a but how can you keep a guy like that out of the camera? I guess this has got to count for something but makes this a tough topic.
  6. While I agree Gardy does coddle guys a bit too much, its a double edged sword. How many teams (eg. Det or Bos), have had seasons where they were "supposed" to go really far and just end up getting marred by injuries and destroying their seasons because guys didnt get proper rest.
  7. your right.... would floaters be more appropriate?
  8. actually looking forward to this game... Looks like battle of the backups, all fighting for their spot on the bench. hoping to see Parmelee really bring it, I was really high on that guy last year. Also looking forward to see if Alexi and Revere can keep their solid spring going. Game looks to be on MLB network today
