  1. Re: Puig's clubhouse toxicity. I just listened to the Baseball Tonight / Buster Olney podcast for 7/29. According to him anyway, the Dodgers clubhouse is as good as he's ever seen it. If true, perhaps Puig has matured into more of a team player this season.
  2. Agree. Not a future closer but looks like a decent lefty option for next year.
  3. I hear Chi Wei Hu is lights out- oh nm.
  4. Let's see if Vargas can get in on this too. Errors all around the infield!
  5. Hey ump. Moreau is stepping out the box after. Every. Pitch.
  6. Left side of the infield really doesn't want to see Santana traded
  7. Blue Jay, Marlin, and Indian scouts too
  8. Per Doogie, Rangers, Phil, Angel scouts in attendance.
  9. You can out it on the boarrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrd
  10. Are you all strapped in? Because I am STRAPPED IN!
  11. Probably too early to give up on Murphy but I hope he isn't plan A or B next year.
  12. I admit I haven't followed the Padres that closely (who does). Maybe there's something up with Norris I'm not considering. But statistically speaking he and Ramos are at opposite ends of the regression spectrum: Ramos is having a 140 OPS+ season against a career avg 100+. His BABIP is .055 points above his career avg. Norris is having a 66 OPS+ season against a career avg 96. His BABIP is .057 pts below his career avg. Also noticed Norris is listed at 230 pounds on BB-ref. If you think that sounds high for a catcher, Ramos is listed at 255! Those figures really are worthless.
  13. According to MLBTR the Padres want to move Derek Norris. http://www.mlbtraderumors.com/2016/07/derek-norris-trade-rumor-brewers-padres.html 27 years old, entering his 2nd year arbitration after a down 2016 (first half at least). He rates as exactly league average at CS% and is above average at catcher framing. The Twins should make an offer IMO. He and Centeno would make a good pair in 2017. JRM is a bust.
  14. Nats get Melancon. Send LHPs Felipe Rivero, Taylor Hearn to PIT. http://www.mlbtraderumors.com/2016/07/nationals-to-acquire-mark-melancon.html
  15. Braves and Padres swap Olivera, Kemp. http://www.mlbtraderumors.com/2016/07/matt-kemp-hector-olivera-trade-braves-padres.html
  16. Tribe gets Andrew Miller. Gives up Clint Frazier Jestus Sheffield Ben Heller JP Feyereisen. http://www.mlbtraderumors.com/2016/07/indians-to-acquire-andrew-miller.html
  17. Thing is if it didn't work with Perot, with the financial might he had, we're unlikely to do better with a guy like Trump and much less Sanders. Here's where I'm at. If 58% of Americans would like a viable third option in elections, then why aren't citizens of states with Initiative voting on changing their voting rules? Or are they? I haven't looked into it. All it would take to get the rule change added to the ballot is a friendly State Secretary or Lt Governor.
  18. Isn't the point to change the election rules? Ross Perot was a billionaire, self-financed, who got 8% of the national vote in 1996. The best result in recent memory. Did his campaign help 3rd parties in local elections in 1998? If the goal is to make 3rd parties a viable choice at the polls then it seems you have to make constitional changes at the state level. States make their own election rules. In MN there is no Initiative so the question I would ask is, how would you get a bi-partisan state legislature to refer a constitutional amendment to change election rules from winner take all to, say, runoff voting?
  19. Ah these late inning pitcher changes!
