    I say we start a bunch of fake blogs talking up how it is all butera. Maybe even get Gardy to say something public. Then trade them as a package deal for more. Kill two rocks with one bird.

    Oh don't get me wrong. Getting Paid for Play makes me feel about as sorry as Michael Corrleone. It's just nice to think that some of them might share some of my sentiments. Probably a pipe dream.

    Thanks for helping put things into perspective. I think we have seen so many of "our" player walk and speak of it being a business. It's easy to forget that some actually do feel loyalty. Can't imagine what that would feel like if my employer traded me Trenton, NJ.

    Is Florimon the most ready middle infielder? Any chance we see him? Makes sense to start looking to remedy our 2B problem (dozier should still play everyday, slide to second).

    The twins should definitely look into this. Especially if Rochester could be nixed. Triple A close could create a larger fan base. Having the sky sox (AAA) in Colorado springs creates creates a much deeper tie between fans a players for the Rockies org. It's amazing how many people in IA are cubs fans cause they follow the IA cubs.

    Seth, if the outside shot occurs and Hicks gets the chance, who gets dropped from the 40 man to create space? I thought the 40 was full. Or am I missing something?

    Obviously a lot can change on our roster before August 1. I would really like to see Hendriks get a prolonged low pressure chance to see if his success can translate. Benson seems like he is getting his head screwed back on straight. Does Arcia get a look?

    Who do you want to see? September is one of my favorite times of year. I am a big fan of seeing the young talent that is brought up to fill the roster. With so many knowledgable writers/posters on this site I would love to hear your thoughts on who gets a real look this fall. Also, is there any chance with some of the wasted spaces on the 40 man that some unexpected faces are brought up?

    I am not saying making the playoffs doesn't matter. I am saying that when that becomes the highest reasonable ceiling for a team than that teams leadership system needs gutted. Why do the Minnesota Twins have lower standards than the Tigers or Sox or Rangers or Cardinals or Astros. The great thing about the last decade is the parity. The world series matchups have featured a wide array of teams and markets. Sure some luckily timed hot streaks allowed some teams to sneak in, but it really looks like anybody has had a chance. In the last 19 world series (since the twins last appearance), 19 different teams have made at least one series. I think it is time to expect more.

    Why does it matter. We are the Royals. Both teams have a broken system. The Twins for the last several years seem to have out performed expectations while the Royals have seemingly underperformed. So we made the playoffs a few times. Ever since the Oakland series I have stopped allowing myself to believe that our system could do it (world series). As fans we have let the Twins management hand us a half assed product and now they are reapng the benefits of a new stadium. Has anyone else noticed that the general consensus on most blogs is that payroll will drop and that it seems like fans are ok with that? The pohlads have coasted and now they brought back their mouthpiece (TR) to add to our delusion.

    Seth I agree. I'd rather see us move our own guys up and give them prolonged chances to make the active roster. Especially since we give journeyman nobodies so many opportunities. I am actually excited for these last few months. If the front office has an ounce of sense the tryouts should be starting soon. Maybe we find some more GEMS.

    It's good to hear TR come out and say what everyone already knows. The lineup is strong in a few places but the bottom of the order is definitely a place that could stand to be upgraded. The middle infield and specifically second could stand to be looked at. Dozier has earned the chance to start next year, in my opinion. Casilla has flashes and occasionally Carroll comes through but neither provide the feeling that they will last. So unless we create a hole in a trade it seems to me second and bench are it for an offensive upgrade.

    If revere ever gets his eye in and learns to take some walks. He is going to be an All star. Obviously pitchers will need to start throwing him balls but of he keeps hitting like this they will have to.

    I love bitching about Gardy but Robertson just made him look good. Although all the numbers said it was the move to make.

    Great point. We used to be so blessed. We had a stable of #3 guys with upside like garza and baker we had an up and coming frankie and we had one of the 10 or so number #1s in Johan. Crazy how fast it can all just go away.

    I have to disagree with you on a couple of these. Marquis is just picking up were he left off. National league is the only place he can pitch. Lohse would be very helpful to our rotation, but who knows what his 2.80 and 1.10 whip look like in the AL. Call him a miss though. Humber had on game otherwise none of us would be talking about him. We already have enough ERAs over 5. Dickey, who knows. I don't think anyone saw this coming. Has to be Kilimanjaro related.
