  1. So each and every pitcher will best there career averages for ERA,except Hughes who has a 4.53 career ERA,Hope you right
  2. Sick, A legacy employee who has failed at the teams mission statement for 20+ years continues to be given more and more chances, if so it simply comes down to money in the owners pockets and less about a winning a World Series.
  3. It simply comes down to Hughes and pelfrey workout , or terry and gang are gone....
  4. We have to hope so.....Now if they can field and hit some they might have better records, but if not , they might have better stats and worse records
  5. The bottom line is this ...Terry spent 85+ million on 3 pitchers who in 2013 went a combined 22-38 with an ERA of around 4.60
  6. We could of had the 4 highest WAR amongst free agents for 2/16, in a place of need, rather then sign another4/5 type pitcher , we have uggles of them already
  7. Nice list, Never understood the Keplar love, to me the only thing he brings to the table is the ability to sell MLB-tv to Germany
  8. Joe Mauers contract , was not Just about production..It is about being a home town hero. While I thought it was a bit long. We can see the team has recouped the value of his contract. The Twins now have a big payday in MLB-tv revenue, which they didnt have in 89, also this year a 30+ million bump from the all star game, My point was as contracts go up so do revenue, since selig took over revenue has gone up over 600% while players salaries have gone up 435%
  9. If we were to sign Garza,Tanaka, Uribe,Choo and then Morales, yeah we got a shot at being in the post season...But face it if we sign both Garza and Pelfrey , we are still a sub .500 team. we have improved some for today and for tomarrow, but lets continue to build for the future. Diaz over Drew, and Burch Smith is still out there.1 year from last week , how many prospects will we have to protect? and how many have a real shot at helping us? lets package a few of them with some of our , not so useful players and pickup some help for tomarrow
  10. Or 7.66 x Kirbys annual amount....ok Now riddle me this, how much have ticket prices increased since then? How much has revenue increased? How many more avenues of revenue werent avalible back then?
  11. Willingham,Arcia,Colabello,Parmelee,Doumit,Kubel,Mastroianni, Hicks, and Presley thats 9 Players for 4 spots and thats not counting Mitchel and Rameriez....It is a good move, low risk High reward, but where is he going to play? Like I said I hope that Terry has a plan to move some of the rest of these guys
  12. Um a big Jason fan , but huh? Isint this team filled with slow footed Dh types? I understand we want to replace some of Justins power from the left side, but where does he play , other then in Rochester? He is better then Willingham and Doumit in the outfield, But we are building a heck of a log jam, Colabello,Parmelee,Doumit,Arcia,Willingham and now Kubel. Well I guess the Wizard has a plan that will be reveiled in time ...Go Twins Hope you rake Jason
  13. Terry says...If we are still in the dome these 2 signings ,probally dont happen? Why ? wasnt our payroll in 2009 about the same as it is now 79 million? and if you add in inflation at about 40% arent we at about 50 million in dome dollars. Using owner Jim Pohlads restrictions of 50-54% of the teams income, shouldnt we have a payroll of 128.5 - 135 million this year?
  14. Add to that the weak outfield crop in next years free agency , and you could flip him for double the return, especially if you get the Dodgers to eat enough of the contract to bring it down to 16-17 million per. In 2015 we should have Buxton up along with either Hicks or Rosario roaming the outfield, So we could trade low , use him as a 1 year stop gap and then sell high
  15. You understand Brock I wanted to pick your brain, Price is a NO , but what about an ACE who is young and under contract for 5 years. I to think we dont need to win a world series in 2014(dont believe there were enough free agents to do it this year) As for Terry being done , I hope not, we have several fringe players Im hoping he can bundle along with a prospect or 2 to add towards 2015-2017, also I would like to see A.Diaz signed, the Twins are still in on him , and they must think he is MLB ready, so instead of Drew , Diaz is younger and could grow up with the team
  16. And yet Terry has already surpassed you expectations this year?
  17. So you say Drew and Garza will get less then 110 million for there contracts? to me that is a push (100-115) , my point wasnt about money, it was do you stop and think about an ACE under contract for 5 years, but since you bring money into it, the Twins sit about the same as opening day payroll last year, so we have another 47.5-55 million more we could spend and still be inside the 50-54% that ownership has stated. My guess is we wont come near spending it . I also stated in the end , I dont make the Trade, I want to see Sano batting in front of Buxton....PS Garza 1.4 WAR , Hamel 4.6.....
  18. so you think you can Pay Sano 20 million over 6 seasons? garza 20 million over 4 seasons? Drew 20 million over 3 seasons? Terry better watch out cause if you can , you need to be the GM. Brock my point was this , Price for Sano ...No way, but how about an ACE who is locked up for 5 years in his prime? you dont have to stop and think even for a minute? If not then I guess you have more confidence in magic beans then I do
  19. What good is having a 40 homer run guy on a team that loses 66 games and is surrounded by florimons and Herrmanns? you can make the same arguement brock , wheres the logic in that?
  20. Me bad, but Me thinks you need to read mine a little better as well, I said in the end , I want to see Sano hitting in front of Buxton, but you always have to stop and think about having an Ace locked up for 5 years, as for Garza, he aint no Ace , a good #3 is about his ceiling, he is no where near Hamel
  21. There was an article either here or in fangraph or another site that showed , Pedro raked on the bottom 3rd or the pitchers in AA and really struggled against the top 3rd.
  22. It cant be stated enough , if we are going to add any more pitchers, they need to be an upgrade over what we have already...and there is only a handful that fit that discription. we have the mid-back end of the rotation filled, we dont need any more #4 types, If your going to sign Pelfrey , why not sign Scott baker? Doesnt his career numbers show he is a better chance at being a #3 type pitcher?
  23. I would be happier if last years starters were in San diego , and we had a couple of there Pitching prospects in Rochester
