  1. I am very bias because I have a Mauer and Morneau autograph twins jersey hanging up in the Bar in our basement...so I would like them to sign him and have him retire here, but I get not paying him $10m per year.
  2. Totally agree with you on RBI's because people have to be on base. But market usually pays for RBI's like HR's.
  3. You just asked when the last time someone hit less than 10 homers and 100 RBI's. Morneau is currently on that pace to do both with a lower batting average, which to me seems like he can continue a pace. If he was hitting .400 and doing it, then no way...
  4. So, a while ago. but he is on pace to do it this year.
  5. I don't think he will sign with the Twins for less than $10m when they were paying him $14m this year. Also, what if he drives in over 100 with less than 10 homeruns...still productive.
  6. I can't imagine Morneau signing a 1 year deal unless the Twins tender him a contract and he accepts. But that would probably be the only way he is a stop gap. I would think a 3/4 year 10m/per year would probably cut it.
  7. Apparently Gladden is not to confident in Hicks. He just said, "here is where we need a ball bounced in the dirt and go back to the backstop to move up these runners".
  8. In attempts to quite the nay sayers
  9. I think they are the best one TV. I stop the FF on the DVR to watch them.
  10. And the perverbial head shake after another Liam MLB outing. I really hope he can figure things out.
  11. Bottom of the order production...can't beat that with a stick. Nice start for Liam too.
  12. Florimon can "pick it" but can he throw it....sounds like he hops everything to Morneau.
  13. 3rd level right behind home plate in the bar has been our favorite standing place before we had season tickets. On a colder night it is even better, the room is warm but if u get up front near the windows that they open up..it was perfect. We got there about an hour before, but that was two and three years ago when itgot busier.
  14. Thanks guys, I guess I just needed the reassurance to sit Lee who I drafted 7th overall versus guys I picked up mid-way through. I think Burnett and Parker have the weaker match ups and need to roll with them.
  15. Yeah, right now I have Burnett and Parker in the starting lineup along with Strasburg, Gallardo, and Lester and I have Lee on the bench. Lee was my first round pick and it is tough to put him on the bench. The only bad thing is if either of the two starters lose both and Lee gets a win and QS, but 2 start pitchers are plus...if they are decent starters. Thanks for your input.
  16. Hey Guys, I don't really do this alot but I am going back and forth on 3 pitchers and I can start 2 of them for week 1. Our pitcher scoring is 1pt per Out, 1pt per K, -1 pt per hit, walks, and earned runs, 3 pts for QS, 7 pts per W, -5 pts per L. Cliff Lee - 1 Start versus ATL (Medlen) AJ Burnett - 2 Starts versus CHC (Smardja) and LAD (Kershaw) Jarrod Parker - 2 Starts verus SEA (Iwakuma) and HOU (Norris) I would normally start Lee, but I am leaning toward Burnett and Parker because of the 2 start factor and the Lee is going up against a good offense and a good pitcher.
  17. It is ironic when the agents were defending the free market system when the market was bearing huge contracts, now the free market has changed a bit and is now blaming the system. Boras miss judged the market for his client plan and simple. Teams don't feel Kyle is top of the line money, so they aren't paying it.
  18. Does he really only have 6 pitches through 2 innings?
  19. Wow, this is disappointing....
  20. Maybe if the Vikings had a receiver that could catch the ball on third down last week, catch a pass in the end zone on an untipped ball that hits off the receivers shoulder pads. Yes Ponder makes mistakes, but he is not even two years in and showed in the beginning of the year that he can make plays. All thus bitching about him sounds like I am back out in Madison when Rodgers was taking over for Favre.
