  1. No, we have to let him give up a 10 spot to his former team first.
  2. and the 2 million for Shoemaker, the 6 million for Colome, and...
  3. we'll get a 12 pack and a bag of chips if we trade that mutt Ohh, and his next start is against the Yankees...LOL
  4. Colome, Shoemaker, Happ(less) 16 million well spent
  5. Sano with the K 3 for his last 40, 21k's 2 walks.....0 for his last 20
  6. Happ has been crap...last 19 innings 28 hits, 23 runs
  7. For the 2022 season. I hope the FO does not attempt to bring back any of the free agents signed this year. I also think Duffy should not be offered arbitration. Kirilloff/Garver share duties at 1st/DH(this might help Garver focus more on offense, it's always tough on any catcher). Donaldson at 3rd. Combination of Lewis/Polanco/Arraez/Gordon at 2nd/SS/3rd backup. Kepler/Buxton/Larnach in the outfield. Jeffers catches with some combination of Austudillo/Garver/Rortdvet as back-ups. Pitching staff: Maeda, Berrios, re-sign big Mike, a(legitimate/decent) starter by trade or free agent, Dobnak, Rogers, Alcala, Balazovic, Duran(starter or reliever), Thorpe(starter or reliever), Colina, 2 QUALITY relievers via trade or FA, maybe Stashak, if he gets it together. Need a 4th outfielder(Gordon/Arraez?). Take a flyer on ONE retread reliever, or do what we always do, bring in a number of them and see if it sticks, but only ONE spot on the opening day roster for someone like that. I know that wouldn't be the perfect team(middle infield defense, inexperience, etc...), but I, for one, would be excited to see how they do. I don't think the Twins need to spend alot of money on position players(other than arbitration for Buxton). Think what the FO could have done with the $23.5m for Simmons and Cruz, if they spent it on pitching? That leaves Sano, who is owed 9.75 million next season. Spend the same/a bit more on FA's, but only 3-4 bodies and go for higher quality(all pitching). Fill in the rest using the farm system. It's either something like that or gut the whole thing and start over completely. Unless the payroll is increased to 150-160 million.
  8. We have no chance winning more than 1 game in KC. They look like a team that could potentially have a winning season. As I said before the next 10 against teams with winning records should put this season to bed.
  9. Time to focus on the young guys and see what veterans get traded. Ohh, and let's see if Sano can get to the Mendoza line.
  10. No worries, I'll do it. Ready?...."The 2021 Minnesota Twins"
  11. Well, 4 coming up with the Royals, 3 each with Houston and NY. I'm thinking 3-7, 2-8. That should euthanize the 2021 season. No point in rushing Buxton back, unless it's to show his trade value.
  12. Why do the young guys seem to have a better approach to hitting than the vets?
  13. Well, Duffey will be 31 next year...major drop off this season. Let him walk
  14. Sano. 2 for his last 33. He is no longer a MLB quality player
  15. Twins FO has some tough decisions to make. I feel like they need to retool. The real problem is a lack of quality arms in the organization the last decade or so. That leaves us in the position we are in now. Not sure this can be fixed in the short run. Hope the FO can make good decisions(or get lucky) with trades or free agents in the short run. Otherwise, draft pitching, make some trades to stock the minor's with arms...and rebuild.
  16. I don't know about trading away everyone(yet) but I do know this. Do not bring back any of the free agents signed this year(Cruz, Happ, Colome, Robles, Shoemaker, Simmons). Do not offer arbitration to Duffey or Theilbar. Arbitrate Berrios, Buxton, Garver(as long as he continues to improve) and Rogers. Offer Big Mike another 2 year contract. We have the young guys(Kiriloff, Larnach, Gordon, Lewis, Alcala, Thorpe, Blalazovic, Duran, Jeffers, Colina, Ober). Maybe some others will rise quickly. Then the guys under contract or those who should be back(Maeda, Polanco, Kepler, Donaldson, Dobnak, Austudillo, Arraez). Those named above will most likely be the majority of the opening day roster. They key will be how the FO fills the remaining slots. They MUST do a better job in free agency. Obviously any one of the above listed(not including the prospects) are subject to trade at any point. However, it has to be for high quality arms, period.
  17. I think it might be time to start sharing DH duties. Cruz doesn't look good at the plate, and his power numbers are down. He is not part of the Twins future, so let's give others more DH at bats.
  18. The good new is the Twins only have about $45 million in committed salary next year.(Donaldson, Sano, Kepler, Polanco, Maeda, Dobnak) I say do not re-sign any of the 6 free agents signed this season. Offer Berrios, Bux, Garver, and Rogers arbitration. Kiriloff, Larnach, Arraez, Austudillo, Thorpe, Alcala, Jeffers, Rordtvet...Let Lewis start the season at SS...start Duran and Balazovic start the season in the bigs. Offer Big Mike another 2 year deal Now, that leaves 4 spots..all pitching. Don't offer Duffey arbitration. Maybe Nick Gordon gets a chance next season. Free agency should be focused on the bullpen...and so should any offseason trades. Maybe we find takers for Sano, maybe Polanco or Kepler. I'd like to see what Kepler can do when healthy. Polanco has been decent at 2nd, and is hitting a bit better. I wouldn't be heart broken if the Twins could get a decent bullpen arm for him. Then let Gordon start the season at 2nd. This team won't win the World Series, but my guess it would be more fun to watch than this year's mess.
  19. are they popping champaign in the clubhouse right now?
  20. where would this team be without Baltimore?
