  1. Yep. No way I'd have brought Lester into the middle of an inning. That was the perfect spot for Montgomery or Strop to pitch.
  2. Exactly. Chapman said last night that he has 2 innings left for tonight (obviously that's up to Maddon, but still). Everyone's available.
  3. It will be interesting how they deploy Lester tonight.
  4. Going through the lineup, if he's spot on, would put Kluber through 3 innings.
  5. Even though he got a double play, has to be unsettling that Miller gave up a hit to his first batter...
  6. Wow. Baez even gets in on the action...
  7. And in his podcast today, he said that he'd have Kluber through one time then re-evaluate him after every hitter because he wanted Miller in there ASAP.
  8. Alex Cora, Dave Cameron, Keith Law, and the Baseball America staff all discussed one time through the lineup with Kluber and then re-evaluating on a hitter-by-hitter basis after that.
  9. Remember when I said that getting Bryant going in game 5 would come back to bite the Indians??
  10. All the talking heads were saying that Kluber should only go one time through the lineup tonight. So far, time #2 hasn't gone well...
  11. Yes, I agree. She's off on a lot of my personal stuff, but still definitely the best choice this year, which is like saying that eating gravel is the best style of dirt to eat.
  12. No, not on a lot of issues. Like I said, I have plenty of individual thought on issues, not a party platform. I listed a short handful of them, but my list is lengthy and I certainly don't have a candidate that hits on even 3/4 of them.
  13. Nevermind the hitting they have in the system as well. How one doesn't see prospects of desire in that system is beyond me.
  14. Go Cubs Go!!!
  15. You know what sucks? Being in the middle. Because right now not a damned person cares about my vote, and I know that there are plenty more that feel similarly. Socially liberal (pro-LGBT rights, pro-welfare/assistance, pro-social work in general), religiously devout, fiscally conservative, pro defense - though not at the ungodly spending levels present currently, pro individual gun rights with registration, etc.... If you aren't completely adapted to an entire party's platform, you're not worthy of discussion, and it's frustrating. The expectation is that you, as the voter, bend your values to the party platform, not the other way around, and that is absolutely not acceptable to me. I'll gladly have a "-I" behind my name in my voter registration until one party (any party!) figures that part out.
  16. Not really, which is why I missed him in the one league. I got too comfortable with the range I'd gotten him in previous leagues (roughly the 7th-8th round), and I had the first pick and had the turn at the top of the 7th with him 10th on my list of guys left on the board. I considered reaching for him, but grabbed Marc Gasol instead. It turned out he made it almost all the way back to me, but not quite for the turn on the 8th/9th rounds. It worked out for me as I was able to get four centers in that league, and the guy I traded with needed a center bad, so I moved LaMarcus Aldridge (center eligible in the league) for Lavine and Greg Monroe.
  17. Here's a bit of trivia. The last time the NFL had two ties in one season, the Indians lost the World Series in 7 games.
  18. I have 5 fantasy basketball teams. I drafted Lavine in 4 of them, and I acquired him in the other one via trade after the draft. I think he will be big time for the Wolves this season (plus he has PG/SG eligibility, which helps.
  19. So, that made me go back and re-check my list as I took some folks out of my normal circle of news... Jenny Diski passed away in April at 68 Bob Ellis passed away in April at 73 I guess I should pay better attention. I usually only check at the end of the year!
  20. My wife and I took our dogs and foster baby on a walk today for a couple miles. I was in shorts and a polo. In South Dakota. On November 1st. Oh, and go Cubs go!!
  21. It's definitely been a slow burn on Westworld, but it is coming along nicely.
  22. I remember the first couple of years I went to Gopher volleyball, they were still explaining the scoring changes to the crowd, and then the libero was added my junior or senior year. Made for an interesting piece in the announcer script each game to have rule explanation. I do like the risk taking, and it was very measured and thought out, akin to the pitch clock in baseball, but unlike volleyball, it seems as if no one enforces the pitch clock.
  23. Thought you would enjoy this, Pardon. https://www.facebook.com/GopherVolleyball/videos/10154658258797943/
  24. Lester is an easy guy to cheer for as he's a guy who will be on Twitter tonight praising Ross for his game plan and the hitters for their support if he wins, and he'll be the first to accept the blame when he doesn't pitch his best (he had a great tweet after game 1). Getting Bryant going is not something the Indians wanted to come out of this game, though.
  25. Miller grows every game...6'8, 6'9...pretty soon he'll be starting at center for the Rockets, forcing Yao Ming to play power forward. FWIW, he's 6'6 and some change, so you could call him 6'7, but beyond that is just getting silly.
