  1. I guess they have to do it in steps for all the amateur umpire fans and folks that think umpires and not players are the human element of the game and get all butt hurt about a better tool. But just use it for every call and post it immediately for all to see on the scoreboard. Stop being so slow. Just do it. The sooner the better. Then catchers can pay attention to real skills, like throwing the runners out and less wild pitches and passed balls because they are focused on catching the pitch instead of trying to make it something it isn’t.
  2. Martin’s mind seems to perpetually be on vacation. Skills seem there, athleticism, plate awareness……. but he is 26 and still playing dumb, making horrible decisions repeatedly. He has a hero complex. At least he hits.
  3. Absolutely. Pennant races and playoffs suck. Winning is over rated. Watching good baseball is boring. This is definitely the best time to be a Twins fan. Errors and dumb base running and .100s batting averages. The best of times.
  4. What was the point of even pitching Ryan for a few more days? It’s not the playoffs or a race for a spot. No reason at all. Stupid. Give him a couple more days. Buxton is crazy to stick around this mess.
  5. So they think Lee can play shortstop. Right. Lee and Lewis. Settling into being underachieving high first rounders. Was it 5th and 1st overall?
  6. Harry Dean Stanton wins that pic. A fine singer, as well.
  7. When I was a kid, I thought it stood for Top Cat for a while.
  8. Was I talking to you? Don’t think so. What a child these days. I guess I wasn’t the only one.
  9. Not true Charlie Sheen changed his name from Carlos Estevez. The Royals’ pitcher is not a sibling or son of Martin, and do not share mothers.
  10. Unfortunate. I didn’t say that or comment at all about that. You said it. Is that what you are thinking?
  11. Buxton is getting hits like Wallner’s. Inconsequential. A lead off triple and double. Nobody can drive him in. The other 3 at bats, horrible Ks. One with 2 runners on. Swinging at crap that isn’t even close. But this whole leftover bunch….. I am amazed they even win a few. I feel sorry for Buxton and Ryan and Keaschall. This is like watching a minor league team.
  12. Could have used Phil Cuzzi on the left field line tonight.
  13. I would have called a double steal. Gotta love that power bench.
  14. If Buxton could only ever stop swinging at sliders/sweepers so far outside, he might really be a superstar. It is so ingrained in his play. He just can’t stop. He must.know by now that is what he is gonna get.
  15. It was the 3rd of September……
  16. 2-13 (true to combined averages - .154 for the day), 2 singles, 2 of the total of 3 runs scored, and 2 RBI in a 12-3 loss. Yup. Worth the late inning anticipation for sure. I’m right with you.
  17. I’m excited for the late inning replacements. Too bad Alan Roden is hurt. He would fit right in. The future.
  18. “At the time, Derek Falvey emphasized that the team passed on other versions of deals that would have brought them higher-upside but less polished players; they believe this group can quickly matriculate and make a difference for them.” Hmmmmm. they believe, eh? Like they believed the teams they constructed the last couple years could compete. Maybe they should try Fantasy Leagues.
  19. Only Pittsburgh and Texas have hit a jackpot. Only MLB performance matters. Age means nothing, except a player is younger or older. Younger is always nice.
  20. That Mick Abel is a real prize. Fleeced Philly on that trade. Jhoan who?
  21. Yes! He has made so many mistakes that he is not confident at all. The base running gaff luckily ended up beneficial. The delay made the throw go home and Julien go for third that led to the wild throw there from home and Julien scoring. Toronto played some poor defense, but Varsho in center had two great plays, one robbing a homer, and one running into the wall at full speed without dropping the ball. I couldn’t believe he walked away from that collision.
  22. As good as a game Buxton had, the horrendous AB in the top of the 8th with runners on first and second, and then second and third was the time to be the leader.
