  1. Good report. I'd like to get down there myself, but time is in such short supply.
  2. Well, if Florimon's arm falls off, his batting average might go down slightly. Who says we need a 7th?
  3. They could have (past tense). The Rule 5 draft doesn't go on constantly; it was over in December.
  4. Aaaaand I just saw your link. Carry on.
  5. Who were the imploding relievers? If it's a few minor leaguers, I don't really care much, but I'm interested if it's guys like Robertson, Fien, etc., who are likely to spend significant time with the Twins.
  6. Duensing again? I'd love the rotation to bullpen yo-yo to end, but who else would spot start? There's precedent there.
  7. I for one would like to know a bit more about this. Any indication what the "backup plan" is? Are they rolling with three catchers or is Mauer being taken serious as a true full-timer? Is Clement being considered for spot duty? Can he even do it anymore? Herrmann getting a pleasant phone call?
  8. True, it's gotta be tough to actually measure these things. Too many variables. That said, I think it's clear that the Twins' training staff has made some mistakes, and some pretty bad mistakes. But their job isn't easy, and I think at least half of the animosity directed against them by fans on this board is confirmation bias. What's the over-under on the first Tommy John joke in the thread? 3 posts? 4?
  9. This is really useful, due to my being out of the country for a couple weeks. I missed my baseball fix. By the way, the scale that puts Miguel Sano near 200 lbs. is the same scale I need to have in my bathroom...
  10. We must be neighbors. I'm well under a mile from the park. I don't actually mind the blackout part. After work and errands/gym/other, I've usually got an hour or two, and that's just the perfect amount of time to stream yesterday's game minus the commercials. Just have to be on the lookout for spoilers.
  11. I was about to launch into a giant tirade about why this idea of a "crabshoot" is so godawful stupid, but I think you've summed it up pretty well. Not that he'd get it anyway...
  12. I'd go in on this. Hell, maybe I could be an executive producer.
  13. I finally watched this. Absolutely excellent. Just top notch. And Rene Gayo is shady as ****.
  14. Wow, that took literally several minutes. Guess it means no one on the Twins cares. Now back to your regularly scheduled Gardy-bashing.
  15. This is very sad. That's all.
  16. Look on the bright side. Clete Thomas swung, and he HIT something.
  17. I love this. I put it in my queueueueueue.
  18. I had the app last year, but unlike the "channel," which I watch through my Roku, I couldn't watch games that weren't currently on. In other words, I could watch whatever non-Twins game was playing at that moment in time, but never the Twins, and no games at all if it were, say, midnight. Hopefully this is fixed in the new version. I watch all the games, but I was often a day behind. Being able to watch yesterday's game on my phone would make gym-going much better.
  19. This. Besides, it's hard for me to get behind the idea that "now that the free agent market has shaken out, we can assess..." That's like saying "now that I know I have a losing lottery ticket, I can assess whether I should have played the lottery." No; you do the best with what information you have beforehand. I think a lot of us, myself included, were pretty darn surprised at the money Baker got from the Cubs. People around here were talking about resigning him for $1 or $2 million.
  20. You'll just read whatever you want into a Gardenhire quote, won't ya? Remember that Gardy was on the Twins coaching staff in 1991. How come you didn't assume he was talking about that?
  21. I'm glad you added the image. It's now ridiculous enough to have made me snort air out of nose at a slightly higher pressure than normal. On a serious note, I hope he's alright and it really is just precautionary.
