Welp, we've gone off the rails (see also: the ridiculous abortion called "the bandwagon thread.") I'll come back to TD after they've won their first game. Maybe things'll be sane around here by then.
Whoa. Well said. It's hard not to get down on your team after a crap start (like we did last year), but there isn't any rule that says a few losses early damn us to futility. Hopefully we'll be right in it in September (like we were last year).
You're saying he doesn't? In only 4 innings pitched, he's got 7 strikeouts, a 2.25 ERA and a 1.00 WHIP. I mean, SSS and all that, but it's hard to complain about that.
Well, this one is too late for me, but I have a few predictions. Gibson doesn't strike out a ton of guys but get enough ground balls to be effective for 6 innings. Dozier hits the Twins' first. Mauer gets another couple hits. I'm just happy baseball is back.
I'm really torn between "I want this to be a good sign" and "spring training stats don't matter." I'm past the point of expecting Mauer to bounce back to hall of fame numbers, but solid improvement on last year would be a real help to this team.
