Was that 5 pitches, or 6?

I'm so glad he hit that home run, that "Plouffe rbi recognition" discussion was getting pretty brutal.

That's the likely scenario, but it seems that the "do the little things Twins" do fewer of them each year, and Gardy resorting to yet another round of bus tossing is cringe inducing. When does Gardy and Co take the blame on themselves? It must be possible that they just aren't all that great at preparing the players.
  4. snepp
Gardy, you're not supposed to be posting from the dugout.

    Le sigh.

Fun fact, Willingham currently leads the league in infield flyball %.

    Electrics are great....if you have a mini-lawn.

What was Dickcoom whining about before the break, something about strikeouts? Yes Dick, they only struck out blah blah blah times 25 years ago. Guess what, everybody strikes out more these days, 30% more across the board. Quit acting surprised when guys strike out more than a hundred times a season. Edit: what Chief said too, x1000.

For a minute there I thought I was in the catcher framing thread. This is the KC bashing thread, get it straight.

    Jerk.

Hopefully that's the last time KC's homerun regression continues for today.
  14. snepp
So you're saying the Twins are going to get blown out today?
  15. snepp
    Fixed.

That's for Gardy, someone needs to wake him up when it's time to do some man'gin'.

The framing is as much about not "losing" strikes as it as gaining them. From the limited stuff I've read all of the extra glove moment and head bobbing that the "poor" framers do can cause them to lose strikes that a typical catcher would expect to get. It's not just about "tricking/cheating" the umpire.

Here's the draft order without the need for any clicks! Alright, I lied.

I think that's it. Once I re-selected the 3.0 theme it stayed displayed in the box.

    Babip

snepp replied to Sssuperdave's topic in Other Baseball

I've always looked at the word "luck" as being a bit of a catch-all term when discussing BABIP. Likely a poor choice, given that there could be a huge amount of luck involved, or none at all. Where I see most of the confusion surrounding BABIP is when people that use it don't realize that players will establish their own personal baseline given their skillset. Hitters primarily, but many pitchers will as well.

It would be nice if the payroll started evolving again as well.
  25. snepp
Nonsense, no one would ever boo Lew.
