    Thank you for answering Mike better than I could have, Both Aiken and Nix have probably lost their NCAA eligibility. JUCO for both. I would guess. Nix got a nice consolation prize, So far Aiken has nothing.

The monetary payout helps the Astros avoid having to forfeit the picks, which was a possibility had an arbitrator ruled against them and ordered them to sign Nix.     Sometimes we act as though what's happening is in a vacuum. Steil has relationships with both guys -- let's credit him with some interpersonal skills and common sense.

    But it is also a question of what group of prospects you want him working with. I'd love to see Dougie with the AA guys, They don't open play until April 9. Here there would only be about 5 weeks of school left but then we start and end early. The family situation is important but I would think moving up a level would help position Mientkiewicz for a manager's job down the road.

    I'm getting tired of this phrase: potentially better players This team seems very slow in seeing any of that potential realized. At some point you have to stop hoping and start seeing, I'm not all that sold on Santana but the Twins do need someone better than another #3.- #5.
