  1. They get up to the bigs and the sight lines and backgrounds in the bigger stadiums seem to impact them. I'm sure crowd noise and different lights also impact them, I'm looking forward to seeing the prospects make their way to the Twins but I'm not counting on anything until we see them have success,
  2. Berrios -- because of his intensity and dedication. His work ethic astonishes me. I hope he beats the odds.
  3. I've been curious how the site numbers compare this winter with the in-season numbers, It seems like the discussion topics have been pretty active (although you don't get the long game threads). Just a little curious, Also, should the Twins get back to winning, will that be good or bad for TD? Seems like complaining usually draws more posters but it has been so long since Twins fans have had something good to talk about, it is hard to remember -- maybe the number of posts in the minor league forum is a good sign of things to come. Thanks again for all you do to keep the site interesting and up and running.
  4. I don't think those words are in his vocabulary.
  5. Hope 2015 goes even better than 2014. The off-season has seemed busier than the regular season -- although I dearly miss RB's intros to game threads, Thanks to the mods for their diligence, patience and humor; thanks to the owners for providing the best Twins site around (and keeping it up and running) and for all of the articles you write; thanks to those of you who blog and write articles for giving us fodder for discussion and thanks to all who post and keep the site lively. In 2015, I hope we all find out what TD is like when the Twins have a winning season,
  6. Delmon back w/Orioles for 1 yr. $2,25 mil + incentives up to 3, A.J. signs w/Braves for 1 yr,
  7. I think Ryan steps back and leaves it up to Molitor and Allen (for the most part).
  8. Apparently Tim Stauffer. I'm sure the guys will have an article, Rhett Bollinger ‏@RhettBollinger · 7m7 minutes ago #MNTwins sign Tim Stauffer to a one-year, $2.2 million deal. Chris Parmelee & Eric Fryer outrighted to AAA Rochester.
  9. Dustin Morse ‏@Twins_morsecode · 3m3 minutes ago #MNTwins have signed Wilkin Ramirez, Wil Ledezma, Brock Peterson & Jose G Martinez to AAA contracts. Martinez will receive a spring invite
  10. Or it could be that after an injury and year off, Sano's progress is slowed. We count a lot of unhatched chickens around here.
  11. No, I wouldn't add yet another veteran. Lots of competition for the 5 spot.
  12. It's too early to appreciate what is ,,,, or what may be. I save my rampant enthusiasm for Spring Training. People ask me what I do in winter when there's no baseball. I'll tell you what I do. I stare out the window and wait for spring. Rogers Hornsby Of course, Hornsby didn't have the intermet.
  13. Jose O. Berrios ‏@JOlaMaquina · 16m16 minutes ago Difference now from when I get back in Sept I don't talk, I walk the walk #Work4ABigSeason#MNTwins @Twins @UABaseball
  14. Lots of good quotes: http://blogs.twincities.com/twins/2014/12/22/twinsights-highlights-phil-hughes-media-teleconference/ Hughes on whether new deal impacts his leadership responsibilities: “It may. I feel a little bit uncomfortable in that leadership role being last year a 27 year old. I have a feeling I’ll warm up to that a little more as we get going along. I’ve always seen a lot of guys that lead by example in my time and I’d like to be a guy that does the same.” Seems like he's been in the game so long that its a bit of a surprise that he would have felt that at 27 but glad to see him realize he is going to have leadership responsibilities although Santana's presence helps with that.
  15. Well since some idiot spammer bumped this up anyway, I did see a tweet that Arcia took BP yesterday. Good news!
  16. Apparently he can block 3 teams/year: He’ll have limited no-trade protection, allowing him to block deals to three clubs each season. Additionally, Hughes will earn $200K each season for reaching 200 innings pitched. http://www.mlbtraderumors.com/2014/12/twins-to-extend-phil-hughes.html
  17. Jon Heyman ‏@JonHeymanCBS · 13m13 minutes ago  Bronx, NY phil hughes new $58M/5-yr deal is twins pitching record. also gets limited no trade clause & $1M incentives Anyone want to bet that the Yankees are on that no trade list?
  18. It is a good deal for the Twins assuming Hughes stays somewhat on track, Hughes seems to be one Californian who really likes Minnesota and he and Perkins seem to have some chemistry. Here's hoping they can lead this pitching staff back to respectability.
  19. From all of his posts about his workouts, they may wear him out more than playing. He's unbelievably intense, Maybe he needs the outlet of those few innings.
  20. Rafael Rojas C ‏@rafaelrojasc · 1h1 hour ago Oswaldo Arcia still not taking BP, however says "hand feels much better" @MikeBerardino #MNTwins
  21. Bob Nightengale ‏@BNightengale · 47s48 seconds ago Justin Upton will stay in LF, Wil Myers in CF, and Matt Kemp in RF, #Padres manager Buddy Black says.
  22. Ken Rosenthal ‏@Ken_Rosenthal · 17m17 minutes ago Sources: David Ross to #Cubs, two years, $5M.
  23. Like Jamey Carroll per Berardino?
  24. Yes, but I can't pronouce it. I'll probably refer to him as "Cade" -- good thing our posts are typed!
  25. Mike Berardino ‏@MikeBerardino · 3m3 minutes ago Keeping Doug Mientkiewicz in the fold and moving him up to AA w/Buxton, Polanco, Burdi, Kepler, Walker, et al is huge for #MNTwins. This is why they wanted Mientkiewicz in AA. Good Luck, Doug M. and Good Job, Brad Steil.
