  2. Don't have any ....gian in me.
  3. I used to be more of a B but as I get older, I can't eat as much as I used to. So now I begin by tasting everything so I know what to ignore!
  4. Torii, You aren't 25 anymore.
  5. Pelfrey working slow tonight.... not a good sign.
  6. That's 1! Always love scoring in the 1st.
  7. To me, the sign of respect is how you act during the anthem if you are on the field or in the dugout. I''ve never found the sign of respect to be whether you are present. A lot of people are late for games.. I expect latecomers to stand still wherever they are in the stadium but I don't find failure to be present for the anthem to be a sign of disrespect. Also, the Twins have a lot of players from foreign countries (or US possessions). I expect them to stand still if on the field/dugout but find no disrespect in their absence.
  8. Want to get warning points or banned? Break the rules as stated here: http://twinsdaily.com/topic/8228-twins-daily-comment-policy-latest-revision-september-2013/ Want to avoid warning points or banning? Follow the rules in that link. Pretty simple, actually.
  9. It's Friday afternoon. Time to chill out.

  12. Some would say Columbus has professional sports ... like many cities in the SEC.
  13. I know that we aren't supposed to get into Torii's "mentorship" in this thread but I went through 4 pages and couldn't find a more appropriate thread and I didn't want to start a new one. I don't really want to argue the whole mentorship/leadership thing again. i do want to point out this article on Matt Carpenter. As much as it is about what Torii has meant to Carpenter, it is really as much - or more - about how older players can (and do) mentor the youngsters. There's a lot that happens that we don't see. http://www.usatoday.com/story/sports/mlb/2015/05/07/matt-carpenter-cardinals-all-star-torii-hunter/70965644/ And this article makes it pretty clear how some ballplayers "pass it on".
  14. I think management and coaching may make a difference this year. Lots of puzzle pieces to play with and the need to keep some young players on track. I think Gardenhire was burned out and no longer had the patience to make those moves and work with young players. For that reason, I think the record is probably better under Molitor.
  15. Unlike most here, I don't believe in taking baseball seriously -- it's really just entertainment for me. So I don't know that I'd take this or any other team seriously. The one thing that makes me hopeful is that the Twins have been winning even though there is LOTS of room for improvement. Berardino has been tweeting out a number of stats this morning (not going to post them all here) that make it pretty clear that regression is possible. But they also make it clear that improvement is possible. This is one year when I think management and coaching may be a significant in-season factor.
