  1. I'm glad to see a little buzz about prospects other than Buxton and Sano and Meyer. They are 3 wonderful prospects and likely to be stars. But they aren't all that has helped make the Twins farm system one of the best at the present time. And, it is always fun to see guys move up and down the prospect rankings. If there's a bit of hype about some of them, I take it all with a grain of salt because one thing is clear, the only thing that is predictable is that some prospects will surprise in a good way and some will disappoint.
  2. I honestly didn't know that Souhan could write that well. I'm also looking forward to the next installment. (And to seeing how young Buxton tears up the minors before we (hopefully) get a glimpse of him in mlb yet this year.)
  3. Radio only today .... except for those of you who are lucky enough to be there!
  4. And Sano seeks out Lester Oliveros, too: http://blogs.twincities.com/twins/2014/03/02/twinsights-lester-oliveros-prepares-miguel-sano-for-tommy-john-surgery-and-rehab/ I'm glad he's going to get a chance to go back to the DR and see his Mom. A little mental break before the grind of rehab sounds like a good thing to me.
  5. Sounds like the current store/stores may be temporary until Phase 2 is completed: Phase 2 will give the ballpark another major facelift, as the Twins will widen the concourses while adding new concessions, upgraded restroom facilities and a new retail store for fans. http://mlb.mlb.com/news/article.jsp?ymd=20140301&content_id=68517526&notebook_id=68521978&vkey=notebook_min&c_id=min In the post under new renovations
  6. Plouffe has a great opportunity ... we can only hope that he takes it and runs with it. They've been playing Bartlett all over the place to ensure that he is truly a utility player ... infield or outfield. I think starting with the intrasquad game on Thursday, he has played short, outfield and 2nd (I could be wrong). I would expect to see them continue to rotate him through positions. If he can get his bat going even a little, that would be a good thing. Given how rusty he was, he had some decent AB's today.
  7. Why would Dr. Andrews even pick up the phone -- let alone violate doctor-patient confidentiality?
  8. Thanks for the chat. Nice to see some good plays. Now to see progression from week-to-week.
  9. Kind of nice to see some of these guys who'll be shipped off to minor league camp next week.
  10. Sounds like he won't be 25 until April. We just hear about these guys for so long now.
  11. Guerra now pitching for the Twins.
  12. I have to worry about who the Twins' subs are before I worry about Boston's!
  13. 1-2-3 7th for Hoffmann Middle 7th.
  14. Waring has made a couple of nice plays at 3rd.
  15. Well, Mastro's horse wasn't quite fast enough.
  16. That Pinto double looked like a golf shot.
  17. I think I need to change the aspect ratio on the TV ... they were all looking a little "squat" to me today. Kind of like a fun house mirrror. And now that I've changed it, the Twins look better. But nothing can help Jose.
  18. LaVelle E. Neal III ‏@LaVelleNeal 5m UPDATE: Miguel Sano's surgery will take place in the next 10-14 days and will be performed by Dr. David Altchek in New York. LaVelle E. Neal III ‏@LaVelleNeal 5m Altchek has done Tommy John surgeries on Kyle Gibson, Scott Baker and Joe Nathan.
  19. Mijares is only 29? He looks HUGE (huger than usual).
  20. I'm kind of mean, too. He doesn't have to be a big bust .... just kind of mediocre.
  21. That's right Tanaka started today. Unfortunately I don't do mlb.com TV. Since I'm in Iowa we're blacked out on 6 markets. I have Dish so that's kind of a good thing cuz Twins, WSox, Cubs, Royals, Cards, Brewers are all included without going for an extra innings package. But I do miss those east and west coast home games.
  22. http://www.mlb.com/news/article/mlbam-introduces-new-way-to-analyze-every-play?content_id=68514514&partnerId=as_mlb_20140301_19352324&ymd=20140301 This sounds pretty amazing .... and exciting that TF is one of the first.
  23. It's a little like they are in a bucket on the TV audio. But I'm so used to absolutely crappy audio on college BB lately that I just kind of ignore it.
