  1. Thanks. GO BRIAN DOZIER! End the 2nd base problems sooner than later. Casilla is the proverbial cat with 9 lives. He's about done with those in MN, I hope.
  2. Minor League Baseball.com has Dozier's current numbers, as well as his numbers since being drafted in 2009: http://www.milb.com/milb/stats/stats.jsp?pos=SS&sid=milb&t=p_pbp&pid=572821
  3. The Twins 2011 prospect of the year is following up with a solid start in AAA. not surprising to me, as I was hoping they'd leave him in the bigs, and cut ties with the inconsistent Alexi Casilla. .311 BA in Rochester, and an OPS of .832 This is the kind of offense the Twins need in the bigs. I've followed Brian since the Twins drafted him in the 8th round, and had high hopes for him after watching the CWS. He handled himself well on the caravan, and am excited for him to solidfy the middle for the next several years. It's only a matter of time. 5'11"/190 pound RH hitter, who turns 25 on the 15th of May.
  4. Seth, are we going to do the bragging in THIS thread?
  5. Brian Dozier. Had the pleasure of meeting him and getting to ask him about the college WS during the caravan.
  6. 11 strikeouts in 21 at bats for Clete Thomas. Getting too much playing time in the outfield.
  7. Burnett has surprised after a horrible start. May be working his way to pressure situations. Not sure if that's good or not, but at least he can miss bats vs Gray's meat.
  8. Bringing up a catcher is nonsense. Then you wind up putting Butera's putrid bat back in the lineup. Just when the lineup looks like it has fewer weak links, you want to put auto-out back in? Bring up Dozier when the pitching is settled down. Or, get rid of Clete and be more serious about Parmelee/Plouffe in RF.
  9. Honestly John, some of the moves they've made have jaded me to believe that they'll pull a couple nonsense moves this offseason with average players like Capps/Marquis/Pavano being overpaid, simply because the organization depth at the high levels is not good.
  10. Clete Thomas: LH Lew Ford
  11. Probably. Doesn't make it a good move. Burroughs? Really? Keep guys around til trade waters get warm, then find out what you can get for them. Payroll will be down big-time next year with Baker's 9 mill gone. Liriano get an extension? No way, more savings. Pavano and Marquis will probably get ridiculous contracts instead. And Cappy will probably get a 2-3 year deal. ugh
  12. Don't like the move. Twins are giving up on the guy, who has power potential. and for what? Burroughs?
  13. Absolutely. Just giving up on the guy, and basically giving him away for Burroughs to stay. Could have sent Parmelee back to AAA as well.
  14. Burroughs Plouffe in emergency I think Hughes won't clear. Someone will take a chance.
  15. Also really don't understand keeping Burroughs around at the expense of DFA Hughes.
  16. So the middle infield will be Plouffe/Casilla/Carroll? Don't understand the DFA
  17. LaVelle is reporting that Gutierrez has a labrum strain and is out for "a couple of weeks".
  18. Perdomo got no one out gave up 3 walks/2hits/2runs in the bottom 9th today, NB loses 2-1. Beloit won 6-3. Rosario and Bryant had a couple of hits. Rosario now batting 4th, Sano 3rd.
  19. I agree. I think the Twins over-value Thomas, and will play him too much, ala Lew Ford.
  20. There's enough of 1B/DH guys at AAA(Bates/Rizzotti)as well as outfielders, Parmelee is in a spot right now. Still don't get the Clete Thomas signing. All it does is take at bats away from someone else.
  21. Why the rush to sign him in ST? What is going on with pitchers going down like flies again? This training staff is supposed to be held accountable.
  22. Agreed. Gray got a couple cheap wins, but is not a guy you want to bring in with runners on base. Not much upside. Surprisingly, Burnett has put a good run together, thus likely ensuring he'll stay.
  23. It's a tough spot. They've decided they need 3 catchers, and then 2 of the OFs get dinged, but apparently not serious enough to go DL. All 3 have had their moments catching. Definitely not their best spots being in the outfield. I agree, Bates as DH probably should be in the OF instead. Herrmann has spoiled them in the org. Rohlfing too, both playing in the OF. Heck even Rams played LF the other night.
  24. Liriano is not tough enough to deal with adversity. Needs to be dealt at some point. Or the Twins need to change pitching coach and manager.
  25. Joe C is saying Doumit is sitting, Revere is in RF and Mauer is catching again today.
