  1. Of course It’s painful being a Twins fan this year, but can you imagine if you were a Tiger or a Royals fan this year. Twins are 5-6 games ahead of both of them. They were both supposed to be pretty good, and I think a rebound is not too likely for either team this year.
  2. You’re preaching to the choir. I was trying to tell that to a few people on this site yesterday.
  3. They may as well just DFA Ober now also. This Ober that we were seeing today unfortunately is the Ober of the future. Yeah he had a few good starts to start in the chili weather. Now it’s hitter weather, he’s running on fumes.
  4. They just did that in the bottom of the 10th with 2 outs. Miguel Vargas hit one into the stands for a walk off
  5. The term "golden sombrero" derives from the hockey and soccer "hat trick" (which signifies three goals or feats). Because four is bigger than three, a four-strikeout game is equated to a bigger, flashier hat—a sombrero. The modifier "golden" is simply an exaggerated reference to the scale of the player's struggles. [1, 2, 3, 4, 5] The expression has distinct roots in baseball culture: [1] The "Sombrero": In the 1970s, hitting a "hat trick" (three strikeouts) became widely known as simply getting a "sombrero" in baseball. The "Golden Sombrero": When a batter struck out a fourth time in the same game, the concept was escalated to a "golden sombrero". The term frequently began appearing in print and sports journalism in the late 1970s and early 1980s.
  6. Good point, yeah if he’s around next year, maybe it’s a legitimate complaint, but this is this year and things aren’t going to change so harshing Clemens isn’t really fair. Could just as well say the same about most all the other starters or former starters from this year’s team.
  7. To disqualify him as a starter on a winning team is not right. There have been plenty of guys that hit like he does, and are versatile good defenders that have started for winning teams. Not everybody on winning teams are that far above average.
  8. On this team, he is a starter. He’s has produced offensively and even more so defensively this year. Has played a great first base. He’s also been very versatile and has played other positions quite adequately when called upon.
  9. That is also true. And even if by some force of the baseball gods, the twins hang around 500 for the year it is just gonna be temporary. They still have got to do something with this roster. Have to bring up the young guys up or signing some people and spending some money (right, sure)!
  10. I think management is real happy with the success that they’ve had so far this year and are tricking themselves into believing that it can continue. They don’t want to rock the boat and jeopardize that. Of course, all of us know it can’t continue.
  11. Larnach should’ve peeled off, and I think Gray would’ve had that ball. He dropped it because he thought he was gonna run in to Larnach. Larnach started to veer away, and then veered back in his path.
  12. So Grichuks 15th RBI. He was available the Sox signed him. The Twins signed Bell. Maybe I’m a little sensitive because I always liked Grichuck. Of course he’s a right handed outfielder so the Twins just like left handers.
  13. This umpire and his delayed nonchalant calls he makes really tick me off
  14. Love the way the runner was running towards right field to get away from Bell so he didn’t tag him.🤣
  15. You can’t coach the bases thinking like that.
  16. Clemens should’ve never have been sent home. Yeah that have been great if he could’ve scored, but it was not gonna happen.
