I don't want to make it sound like I am questioning you, but I'm trying to figure out what is the Wichita connection, if any?

Sorry ot break your bubble (since you seem to enjoy the negative spin you put on everthing), but when Ryan said he couldn't give his money away he was referring specifically to offers that were made to FA's who wanted to wait for the market to shake out. eg the log-jam begins at the top of the market. Generally, no one who is not the top tier FA wants to sign until those above (eg Greinke) him have signed and set the market. They believe that accepting an offer now would be too early in the process and that they would likely leave money on the table. And the fact that one guy (Blanton) has signed does not change the fact that this is the general strategy of agents and players alike.

In October, Sickels came out with his preliminary top 50 Pitching prospects. Meyers was 28 and May was 32. Can't imagine that much has changed since mid Oct? Looks like a top 100 (or close to it) guy to me.

Jason Martinez‏@mlbdepthcharts RT @BenGoesslingPP Terry Ryan said Darin Mastroianni, Joe Benson and Aaron Hicks will all get chances to compete for #MNTwins' CF job.

Well yeah, it would be dumb not to listen to all offers. But to get Mauer I think there are very few players they could take in return and not be absolutely roasted by the media/fans. It's not going to happen. Not sure where anyone (including me) said it was going to happen.

Saw a tweet that Tigers offered Sanchez 4/48 - would you rather try to beat that? edit : Now Jason Beck says 4/48 not accurate - disregard

    Good get!!!

I am thankful that the Twins have been a big part of my life since 1963. First through the radio with Herb and Halsey, later through TV, now through the internet and always in person at the Met and the dome (though not lately since I have relocated) I have received unmeasurable joy in my life for a very reasonable price.
  17. TwinsFanInPhilly
So you have no evidence that slow is bad?
  18. TwinsFanInPhilly
    Is this fact or speculation/opinion?
  19. TwinsFanInPhilly
So the people who know what other posters mean when they say "hate" are the ones who "love" him (their words, not mine). It always amazes me how people take so personally any negative comments about celebrities they love..
  20. TwinsFanInPhilly
No surprise you commenting on the other commenters rather than the actual article itself. So predictable. Why don't you tell us if you would have paid more for Baker. Personally, I wouldn't.
  21. TwinsFanInPhilly
    It's just you.
  22. TwinsFanInPhilly
    Are AAA and MLB comparable?

Ageism is alive and well in the heart of Pennsyl-tucky
  24. TwinsFanInPhilly
Would love to see some empirical evidence to support this claim.
  25. TwinsFanInPhilly
No. There's a decent chance he'd be the worst starter on the 2013 Twins, regardless who else they add this winter.
