  1. Oh, I've never launched into a discussion upon hearing the phrase, before this. For approximately the reasons you state. Also, because it's far too complex to unravel in a casual conversation, and is always a lower priority than the actual topic under discussion.
  2. "Drunk goo? Moi?" "Drug - Oink - Moo"
  3. My recollection is his anagrams aren't too inspired. "Legible Maven", for instance.
  4. It's fiber. When you're old enough, you'll appreciate it.
  5. Winnah, winnah, soylent green for dinnah!
  6. Advanced analytics told us it wouldn't continue indefinitely, anyway. I wasn't worried.
  7. Chicken dinnah! http://d2gtpjxvvd720b.cloudfront.net/system/recipe/image/793/default_hg-fiber-ific-fried-chicken-strips-with_side-salad.jpg
  8. He was halfway to third base by the time the ball landed. j/k, I don't know
  9. Picked up on waivers by the Giants, and later by the Orioles, if I recall the sequence correctly.
  10. The bit of rest for ROSARIO!!!! seems to have done him good. He looks fresh.
  11. I think this gets to the heart of something important. For me, it's not useful to think of it as privilege, because it's what I think everyone should have. Not as some lofty, "someday we'll have flying cars", but right now, we should not have law-abiding people afraid to interact with the police. It's "Basic Human" in the sense of basic human rights. To the extent I have it and others don't, well, it's only a privilege in the sense that there's an advantage that goes unnoticed most days - but it's not something specifically bestowed on me or others like me, it's something rightful that's withheld from too many others. It's twisting a word to call it privilege.
  12. There's quite a margin from "generous" to "I would have guessed an order of magnitude lower."
  13. Nice two-strike hitting by GARVER!!!!
  14. Very small foul territory to contend with, there. Their RF fell prey to protecting himself versus catching the ball cleanly. Kepler has this mastered by now (knock on wood).
  15. Memo to Kyle Gibson: please observe your Seattle counterpart Paxton, who seems to have some notion of the word "command". Maybe you can pick up some pointers.
  16. Ehire's here for his glove. If he's going to do those, he may as well pack his bags.
  17. LaMarre's a ballplayer! There's a a lot of career minor leaguers who think they can make the majors just with the bat. I like seeing him move up on that fumbled pitch in the dirt.
  18. LaMarre continues his early bid for MVP.
  19. Right. That's where they keep all the 2's. Now, if he wants 3, he needs to keep moving.
  20. Grrrr. A high change up down the middle doesn't seem like a good pairing with the much-discussed four-seamer much of anything actually.
