    Sticking my neck out and saying that "ordinary effort" is the key here. Adrianza was the one who had to exert effort beyond the ordinary. Since the ball got away, it's on the guy throwing it. You can dislike that interpretation, but I'm pretty sure it's consistent across the major leagues.

    We kind of got spoiled that first month or two. Almost always there's someone scuffling in a big league lineup. Didn't we have everyone above .800 OPS at one point in May or June? I'm not thrilled with those two, and playing time should be reduced, but it happens, and they'll work out of it almost surely.

    I just wanted a baserunner to be able to watch how Clevinger's delivery differed. The foot-rocking is more subdued than in the full windup, but I still can't believe he doesn't balk at least a couple of times a game, doing it like that.
